Windflower : The Wind of Change !

Me and my wife visited Windflower Resort in Coorg in the month of September this year.
It's our 6th visit to Coorg but it was our 1st stay at Windflower.
It's a lovely property. The location is right amidst Coffee and Spice Plantation, hence you feel spiced up all the time.
Food and Service are fine.
The rooms are big and well - appointed. The bathrooms are good but needlessly vast.
The only drawback was that almost all the rooms face the kitchen, as a result it's pretty noisy out there as the kitchen chimneys and exhaust fans make unbearable din. In fact, we had to switch over to a room far away from all that ruckus !
The front office and reception guys are somewhat serious - looking and cold in their behaviour. During check - in, we felt as though we have sneaked into the property much to their dislike !
Overall, Windflower is a good property but there is room for further improvement.Instead of suggesting the changes need to made, I will leave it all, up to the resort management to think over it and carry them out.

Excellent Staff

Recently we had the pleasure of staying at this property in Coorg. If you’ll are looking for a getaway from the hustle-bustle of the city life, I strongly recommend visiting Windflower Resort & Spa. Initially, we had booked our stay in a suite, but upon checking in it was not the best. We spoke to the Property Manager Mr Sangeeth ,who went out of his way to not only move us to a different room but upgraded us to a Villa. Honestly, this is a perfect example of exceptional customer service. During our stay we were looked after quiet well by the staff. I would like to specially thank Mr. Sangeeth, Mr. Kumar and Mr. Ravi Chandran (chef) for spoiling us! :)
Please note: as this property is in the outskirts, there is no mobile network but wifi does the work.

Fabulous resort

Beautiful property, excellent hospitality by Mr.Sangeeth, he is an asset to the resort, restaurant overlooking infinitg pool, great buffet spread, inddor badminton and activity area is excellent emcee who hosted the games did an excellent job sry forgot his name..2N comfortable without having a need to venture out.
Oh btw, room was like an apartment with living area, balcony, huge bedroom, bathroom with separate outdoor shower, indoor bath area etc

WOW factor was missing

While it has all the plus points mentioned in various other reviews, we felt the WOW factor for a luxury resort was missing for this place.

This place would have been a bigger disappointment if not for Mr. Sangeeth and the activity person.

Areas needing improvement

- Had to wait for 30 mts in the room for the luggage to arrive after check-in
- Had to wait for 30 mts in the room for the luggage pick-up to arrive during check-out. This is not expected in a luxury property

- Food was a BIG Disappointment, though Sangeeth tries his best to make it interesting, he has his limitations.
- There are no local cuisine in the buffet and they are not available even on order.
Whatever so called local items on the menu are tasteless.
- You may see a wide array of items, but most of them are tasteless, and the
selection and mix of items lacks imagination.

- All items in the resort needs a total makeover. That includes rooms, furnishing, washrooms, bathroom fittings (taps were loose in luxury suite room), bathroom towels (rough and torn), games room etc

Huge rooms, campus, activities, Spa, open shower with Jacuzzi etc were good.

We stayed for 3 days, and shifted to another place for next 2 days of the vacation

Wonderful Stay at a Wonderful Place!

My family and I of three people stayed for two nights at The Windflower Resort and Spa in Coorg in September. I have travelled to more than 50 countries and have stayed in multiple resorts. The kind of personalized hospitality we experienced at the Windflower was excellent and commendable. We would like to thank everyone at the resort, especially the Chef and Mr. Sangeeth who made sure that our stay would be special. And indeed, it became a memorable one! Thank you!

Room tip: Ask the Chef about local delicacies
