My wife stayed for a 2 night break while visiting friends in the area. Nicely located overlooking the harbour it is a short distance from Mousehole and Penzance. No parking on site but provided with a 'pass' to use the public car park adjacent to the harbour for a much reduced cost. We had a room at the rear which was extremely nice and very quiet - with its own patio 'sit out' area. Barbara and Stephen were both extremely friendly and the perfect hosts for our visit.

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights Jul 31st to Aug 3rd on my first trip to Cornwall. We had the room at the back "Forbes" which was very clean and quiet (apart from the seagulls but they are everywhere!)
The breakfast was included and was delicious, you can choose from full English, to omelettes and sausage sandwiches, which my husband had on the 3rd day, the hosts are happy to adapt most things on the menu. I also liked the tea & coffee making facilities in our room, as they had provided lovely shortbread biscuits, a favourite of mine, and you could get fresh milk from a fridge nearby. We had a lovely stay and ate at the restaurant on the Thursday evening, and the food was lovely.

Room tip: Forbes is at the back with a private courtyard

We stayed three days in a really comfortable, clean, very good sized room, and the service and food were excellent and friendly the whole time. A great tray of tea, coffee and biscuits was kept well refreshed in the room, and there is fresh milk available in a communal fridge which is a lovely touch - In fact everything is very well thought out. The bathroom in our room was huge too.

A great choice of breakfasts is available and they'll put together all sorts of alternatives based on the ingredients they have on the menu - I enjoyed a sausage and egg toasted sandwich one morning, which was brilliant.

Also, this is a "restaurant with rooms" - If you're there when it is open, I'd definitely suggest trying out the evening menu.

Easily accessibly by bus or car from Penzance, there are a couple of nearby carparks if you drive, which we thought were very reasonably priced.

My girlfriend and i stayed at the Smugglers in Newlyn for three nights and have nothing but praise for our hosts who couldn't do enough for us!
The room was modern and clean with the only slight grip.... and we are both fussy was the water pressure in the shower would drop occasionally. That said a small price to pay for a overall 5 star experience!
PS. The food is amazing!

Room tip: All rooms are good some have a veranda and one has a view of the harbour
