Arrived tired and cold to an offer of tea and scones. Couldn't have been more welcoming. In hindsight we wish we had organised an evening meal, as the breakfast was amazing. The room was huge and so comfortable, the soft furnishings so sumptuous I could have stayed for a week! If I had a B&B this is how I would want it.

Tasteful and comfortable room that was scrupulously clean. The beds were so comfortable....
The en suite bathroom is large with all the little ‘touches’ you would need.
Unlimited tea/coffee etc and an unexpected touch of fresh milk...no little cartons.
The breakfast was fantastic with such choice....and we opted for the evening meal. There was plenty of choice and all prepared, cooked and served to restaurant standards. No pub grub here!
The setting is so peaceful....the dales are right outside and you can watch the chickens and sheep. Lots of people come to complete the 3 peaks challenge but it’s not compulsory...you can just unwind!

Given its location near the three peaks, there is surprisingly limited accommodation in Horton. Luckily I found this place which could not have been nicer. The cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard and my hosts Ed and Jan made me feel at home throughout. I was travelling solo off-peak and was offered an upgrade to a double room for 4 nights. In addition to a satisfying breakfast, there is the option of a home cooked evening meal which was a nice way to end a long days hiking.

I was a bit anxious about the location, since it is a 30 minute walk from the station and pubs etc, however, there are plenty of walks you can do direct from the farm e.g. up Penyghent or the Ribble Valley. Plus they kindly offered to drive me to the station (though I did feel a bit lazy taking them up on that!) Recommended and would stay again.

We stayed here back in September whilst doing the 3 peaks challenge and it was fantastic. Edd and Jan were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We ate there on the Friday night and all of our food was excellent with a lovely varied menu. Knowing we were doing the challenge the following day they were up and ready to serve us breakfast at 5.30am to ensure we had a full stomach to start us off! It was small details like this that really added to what was a very exhausting weekend. We had such a wonderful time, we will definitely be back for a less challenging walk next time!
