Wow I was here 25years ago and has it ever changed. It was just packed and gets even more crowded when the day tours show up...still the beaches are nice and the karst topography stunning.

We stopped at this beach for about 1.5 hours while on a long-tail boat completing the 4 island tour. It was worth a stop as it is a beautiful beach. Our boat captain told us to make sure we don't eat at the restaurants on the beach as there are many dining places if you walk into the little "village" area and he was right. Fabulous food stands featuring Thai pancakes, fried rice and spring rolls are in a row just off the beach and much cheaper than the beach establishments. Recommend for 1/2 a day as it is crowded.

We loved Railay Beach - its really like a paradise! Like a very small village with lovely small pubs and shops. There are 2 beautiful beaches - one has even a cave! It's offers a lots of things to do, and I loved how friendly are the people here.. Not too crowded, and really quiet in the morning. I spent here 4 days, and wasn't enough! Definitely a must see, I will come back as soon as I can! xx

I was nervous about staying at Railay because it's only accessible by boat, but it really makes the experience and stay unique. The whole place as a cozy village feel. I definitely recommend eating at
some of the restaurants along the "walking street" away from the resorts. The West beach is really one of the most beautiful in Krabi. It never felt crowded, the sand was soft as flour, and the water was warm and beautiful. Would definitely go back!

We visited for a few hours by long tail boat from Ao Nang beach. Very crowded when we arrived. A few hotels on the beach with restaurants.
We followed the trail to find the ‘hidden lagoon’. It’s so hidden that it’s up a sheer cliff face! We were about to start the climb when people on their way down told us the lagoon had just been closed. So we gave it a miss as I didn’t fancy the treacherous climb for no reward at the end. We ate at one of the restaurants on the beach and it was ok. Very slow service but it meant we just sat and watched the world go by.
Beautifully warm and clear sea to swim in.
Lots of climbers and kayakers/paddle boarders, so plenty to do for the more active
