“Enjoyed our stay but resort needs some refurbishment”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

The resort is filled with greenery which was nice. There are 3 restaurants onsite which are adequate though the food was not fantastic. As the resort is a world apart from the surrounding area, we daren't venture out after sundown like we would in Krabi or Phuket, so we settled a few meals in-house.

The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful, and the rooms are adequately furnished, though there wasn't hair-dryer which the hotel info promised to have. Some bedsheets were yellowish and the pillows old. The TV was a small TV box which indicated its age and the age of the room in general. The room was also sandy so not very clean, the toilet was clean but I spied some cobwebs on the ceiling here and there. The sea-view room had a balcony where you could just lounge, but the trees would block any view of sunrise/sunsets. One good spot to suntan/ lounge would be along the beach where there are lounge chairs available, but the beach peddlers are rather annoying, though there's a security staff there to keep them from going beyond the "border".

Generally enjoyed our stay here, the pace was really slow and I really felt away from the world apart (in a good way), but the hotel really needs some refurbishing.

We were travelling around the whole of Indonesia and stayed here mid trip as a trip-so just to note we were on a tighter budget than some who may be who are staying here. Saying that we easily negotiated a discount of 40% on the price of a standard room (peak season).

The room was great, clean with good shower and bathroom facilities. The staffs were generally friendly, although the service was quite slow in the restaurant. The food was ok, but incredibly overpriced for what it was, (you can walk into town and find great food for a quarter of the price, both Western and Indonesian, however the it takes about 15 minutes to actually get off the resort from the beach so this is quite an effort).

Live music on the beach where you could watch the sunset every night was lovely, as was the pool area, which wasn’t crowded at all as there is also plenty of beach for everyone. The spa was amazing and a must do if you stay here.

This resort is old and established in Senggigi, which makes it both a safe choice to stay in and you can expect a good standard, but also could do with a refurb and a little TLC to bring it up to date. I really enjoyed my stay, but don’t expect ultimate luxury here.

Stayed for one night. Upgraded to a sea-view room in a half chalet. Room was nicely furnished with a safe and very clean. Air-conditioning worked perfectly. The location of the hotel was good, with a good stretch of beach in front and some shops (for amenities) and small restaurants just a few minutes walk from the hotel entrance. The staff were very friendly and efficient and willing to help call for transport. The gardens are well maintained and eating choices adequate. Could do with better control of the many beach peddlars who congregate at the beach in front of the sun-lounges. Mild mosquito problem, especially at night but it is the tropics.

Good for a slow relaxing weekend.

Room Tip: Beach view chalets near to the italian restaurants have good views

This resort should be the best in Lombok. The location is absolutely fantastic. Poor service and really bad food let the place down. It needs a total reburbishment.
We stayed in a garden bungalow which was very small, the bed was so close to the wardrobe you had to sit to the side of the door on the bed to get it open. Very old and dingy. Basic bathroom, shower kept going cold. The bungalows consisted of two connecting rooms. Could be made better if it was just one bungalow room instead of two.
Breakfast, totally unappetising. Had a selection of noodles and rice, the western buffet part consisted of cold potato gems and small sausages. The egg station could not cook scrambled eggs, over cooked and very oily. Hamburger for lunch was terrible, meat was dense and grey.
Italian restaurant on the beach was slightly better, pizza was passable.
Service was terrible. There was a live band which was great. Happy hour for cocktails was good, but again poor service.

We went to look at the Villas, they were very luxurious. two storeyed with bedroom upstairs and bathroom with spa. Downstairs could be another bedroom / sitting room with double glass doors out to patio and pool. These would be lovely to stay in.

The rest of the resort needs a total refurbish and some good hospitality training for staff.
I would not stay there again as it is now.

Room Tip: If you do stay get a bungalow as they are closer to the sunset beach.

We stayed in a bungalow with sea view. The room was adequate and the bed good. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The basic needs and they show their age but everything worked well.
The gardens are beautiful and quiet. It is really a nice place to relax.
You can swim on both sides of the hotel in the ocean as it is situated on a peninsula. The east side has still some coral although it is heavily polluted with plastic bags. The west side has a nice beach but all the coral has been destroyed and there are also a lot of plastic bags floating around. Nevertheless, from the beach you can't see it and the view of the ocean and bay is breathtaking.
The breakfast was ok. A mix of western and asian choices. I wouldn't go to the hotel though for that.
As it has been there for a long time the hotel is on a big property. This makes it peaceful and gives it a luxurious feel.

Room Tip: We picked a room that faced west but I think the ones facing east would be quieter as there is no be...
