We have passed the hotel more than 30 times during our trek to and from the ports but never stayed. Fancying a change we stayed there at the end of November, arriving in the late afternoon. It's an informal family run hotel but it's well appointed and very clean. We had a room with a view although working out how the windows open was a bit of intelligence test. It was comfortable but budding hotel inspectors might pick up some minor repair issues such as wonky light switches- it didn't bother us. A 15 minute walk takes you to village which has a cosy looking bar and a posh bakery - you can buy it's produce in the hotel shop. We had a drink in hotel bar prior to our meal, with the granny de casa on colouring duties with small children. It started to get busy with locals/regulars which is a good sign so we retired to the restaurant. We pushed the boat out with the roast suckling lamb followed by leche frita. If you are used to Costa del Sol prices it might seem a bit expensive, but it was about right for similar places inland and we'll worth it. If you want the buffet breakfast you need to book and the freshly made fruit juice, cereals, cooked meats, cheese, fruit, pastries and cakes will stoke you up for the day. If you want less there is the cafeteria. Check out was a friendly affair with the owner who speaks good English and is happy to talk about the area - you get a voucher for a reduction at the filling station next door- we had filled up just before we arrived. We would stay there again with it's secure parking and it looks like a interesting area although information is bit lacking. We saw signs for a Railway Station but didn't check it out but if it exists it might be possible to have a visit to Madrid.

Exceeded expectations as soon as we pulled up outside. A neat and tidy hotel with fresh decoration. Reception was good and the room was large and comfortable. It was warm enough especially as there was a good frost. Breakfast was excellent and ideal to hit the road again. We took the recommended quarter of a lamb roasted and shared between two - what a feast, especially washed down with their fine wine. Very comforting.

We have stayed at the Mirasierra 4 times now on our way to Mojacar and back to Santander. It is ideally situated at junction 99 on the A1, just 3 hours from Santander. Making it an ideal stopover hotel. Owner Raul and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms and very clean as is the rest of the hotel. Restaurant has a good menu with plenty of choice. Bar snacks, ie burgers and sandwiches can also be served in the restaurant. Worth knowing if you don't want a full meal. Good buffet breakfast from 8am, although coffee and croissants can be purchased in the bar from 6.30 am, if you want an early start. Secure parking in the hotel grounds. Gates are locked at night. There is also a new petrol station on site, which looked due to open soon. Rooms are quiet given the hotel's location close to the autovia. All in all, good value rooms, food & drinks.

An unexpectedly good hotel that is just off the main road but with virtually no traffic noise.
.
Very clean with nicely refurbished rooms and comfortable beds that gave us a very good night’s sleep which is my top priority for an overnight hotel.

Reception spoke very good English.

A very good and extensive breakfast added to our stay.

If you find you need a hotel in this area there’s no reason not to choose this one - offers very good value for money!!.
