Stayed here for eight nights. Using as a base to visit places of interest locally. Hotel was clean and welcoming. Room very comfortable with plenty of power points. Breakfast is extra but so worth it beautifully cooked hot and fresh. Sarah does a great job and is so friendly and welcoming she made our stay. Hotel is quiet within walking distance of the town. There is no meal service other than breakfast and the town seems to lack eating establishments but there are some good pubs around the area who do great food.
Would recommend the Lord Nelson and would happily rebook for next year

On arrival the car park is a bit difficult to find: it's at the rear of the property but accessed from an approaching road, but it is clearly signposted.
On check-in I was asked to pay again even though I had already paid in full through a booking site, but was eventually sorted. I would highly recommend that you take a printed booking confirmation with you. There is no reception - You check-in at the bar.
The whole building looks old and tired, and initially a bit off-putting. There are steep stairs to get to the rooms. But the room & its on-suite shower room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. You have your own key to get in and out of the front door, and only a five min walk to Wellington center. We had a room at the side of the building that was very quiet, and got a good nights sleep. On check-out the lady was very friendly.
Overall, pleased that I stayed here, and would stay again.

We wanted a b&b for one night. Good service and handy that you had your own key to the front door.
Breakfast was great and just £5 per person. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were really friendly

Room Tip: We had room 9. Good for a couple
