Cristina runs and excellent operation in Salento. We had Sebastian as a guide and he was outstanding. Very patient, knew everything about the valley. While the trip we did wasn't complicated, Sebastian was very conscious of safety, which is very important on the other treks. Can't say enough good things. Very recommended. They can do things a la carte for you if needed.

We did the 3 days trek to Paramillo del Quindio with Jose and Matthias.
We had a great experience and enjoyed it a lot.

The whole organization done by Paramo Trek was perfect. We were very well prepared the day before with what to bring etc. and they equipped us with the things we didn't bring e.g. rain pants. Snack packages and water is included and more than enough. On top,the guides carry lunch and picnic and also several surprises ;)

Don Jose is a great guide, maybe the best I ever had. He knows everything about the park, the plants and animals and their characteristics. Actually there was nothing he didn't know. :)
He and Matthias, who translated everything for those who didn't speak Spanish, are a great team. Both are very professional, knowledgeable, caring, informing and motivating. We finally all made it to the top at 4750m.

Finca Primavera is a very simple hostel, but food is good though. Make sure to bring a sleeping bag (as beds are really dirty) and a second pair of shoes for the evening. The finca lacks a real washing room, we suggest to bring e.g. some wet wipes...

In general I would recommend to do the tour only with good hiking shoes, as the path is very muddy and steep in some parts.

Finally: Paramo Trek and especially Jose and Matthias should be chosen by everyone who wants to have a great trek in Los Nevados and wants to learn about the region at the same timw. Doing the trek solo may be possible, but really not recommendable as markings are bad, the weather conditions can change quickly and altitude sickness can be a topic.

Finalky: MUCHAS GRACIAS JOSE Y MATTHIAS. HASTA LA PROXIMA.

Our 3-day walk in January was an amazing experience. Breathtaking landscapes of the Nevados and the paramos and the Cocora with different layers of nature that give an idea of Colombia’s richness. Paramo Trek made it possible because of their professionalism and their love of mountains. First we were seriously briefed on this demanding walk: on what we should expect as well as on what we needed to accomplish it. Because it can be very tough on such a long distance and such a great vertical drop (very steep and muddy) it should not be undertaken carelessly.
Thanks to our guides Santiago and Mathias (for his first accompany for Paramo Trek - sorry we were so late to write) we made it because they just gave us the right advices and kind encouragements to go on walking up with good morale and adequate rhythm. Providing explanations about our environment and constantly watching out for the reaction of our bodies to altitude. Using their skills about curing the effects of high-mountain trekking. So thank very much you guys and also to the nice international walkers we were with.

We did a 3 day trek with Paramo from Salento up through the forest to the Paramo over a 4,000m high point.
We stayed in the dormitories of the Finca Argentina and Finca Primavera where the catering for lots of cold and hungry hikers who huddled together in the kitchens was superb.
It was really hard work for us climbing up at high altitude and perhaps even harder coming down through thick slippery mud.
But Manolo, our guide was a star. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out flora and birds of interest as well as the incredible scenery. He carried an enormous pack up and down and he was very friendly, patient and kind and made sure we stepped in the right places to avoid a nasty fall.
Muchos Gracias Manolo y Paramo
