“Perfect Stop In A Small Town”
Reviewed 22 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Daphne's cottage was a welcome respite after a long day of driving. It was beautifully quaint in the outside, with all the modern amenities on the inside while maintaining rustic charm. We could even look outside the kitchen to see a yard full of chickens running around, and out the living room window to see a couple of curious cats lurking nearby.

It was nice that the kitchen was well stocked and that the owners were next door to greet us and wish us on our way. Wish we could have stayed more than two days in the quiet calm of Stretton!

“Peaceful Haven”
Reviewed 12 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location. Quite and beautiful surroundings. Immaculately clean and very cosy. comfortable bed, wonderful shower, relaxing reclining sofa's, real log burner, but not needed as there is underfloor heating. Internet if you want it. Well equipped kitchen with a lovely outlook from the window to a veg patch and roaming free chickens :) Liz the owner made as very welcome as we arrived late due to work commitments on an Easter Good Friday. Only had a two night stay as we attended the Peterborough Antiques Fair. Not a long enough stay to see all the surrounding areas, so we will be back at a later date. Would thoroughly recommend the Nene Valley Wansford Railway, especially the Mail train. All in all a wonderful stay

“Comfy Cottage”
Reviewed 7 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We had a lovely weekend in the Stretton area. Daphne's Cottage is very well kept, extremely clean and with a very well equipt kitchen to enable you to cook whatever tou need. The two settees in the living area are comfortable as is the double bed. We had a small problem with the water/heating but that was quickly sorted out!
We would reccomend the cottage.
in the area there are some lovely country pubs. Stamford is pretty as is Oakham, but some of the other villages only have a pub and maybe a shop!
We were a little disappointed with the National Trust property - Woolsthorpe Manor, it is only just over 6 miles away but didn't do much for us, although it is a National Trust that has lots for children!!

Having just stayed for 2nights at Daphne's Cottage while showing a friend the Rutland area . I couldn't of picked a nicer place to stay . The village location , the cozy warm cottage and amenities were brilliant. Liz the owner was friendly and always contactable. Would highly recommend this cottage.
