“Rustic charm and relaxation, easy acess to places of interest and activities”
Reviewed 15 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

A great property, well stocked and very comfortable. Plenty of space for out family of four and could easily accommodate more. Very well situated in pleasant village of Azille with easy access to local sites and activities including Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi. Would highly recommend although access to upper floors is via steep winding staircases (due to age and nature of property) may not be suitable for older visitors, young children or those with restricted mobility. Also upper floor window open out with shutters and have a guard rail but may be a risk for children inclined on climbing, as during summer you will want them open for ventilation.

Thanks for your review Richard, and we are very pleased to hear that your family enjoyed the house for its facilities, comfort and space, and its accessibility to the many sites and activities in the area. Those are things we love about it too. The house is a genuine old period house with great ambiance, facilities and space. Due to its age the house does have steep stairs, and there is also a window with a low sill and a metal grid guard in one of the upper rooms that may be an issue for very young children. That is why we are careful to note in our published descriptions of the house that it isn't suitable for people with mobility issues and we are also careful to check with people about the ages of children because we want potential guests to know about the nature of the property and how it will work best for them. Thanks again for your comments.

“Charming and Quaint Southern France Getaway”
Reviewed 21 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Thoroughly enjoyed the great fall vacation with friends in this lovely self contained holiday home in the historic French town of Azille. It was a great gateway to explore the Landuedoc-Roussillon area with its plentiful vineyards, Carcasonne Fort, local markets, Mediterranean coast, Canal du Midi and to sample wonderful authentic French cuisine. An ideal spot to take leisurely hikes and strolls. This well maintained home had all the needed amenities with a great private courtyard. The owner had provided a very informative resource binder of local activities. The 2 minute away Boulangerie had superb croissants to start the day and tempting artistic pastries for afternoon tea. An ideal spot for family vacation or to have a leisurely holiday with a few friends. Enjoy the genuine French ambiance as the bells toll in this charming village.

“PERFECT PLACE TO EXPERIENCE THE HOSPITALITY OF SOUTHERN FRANCE”
Reviewed 22 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Kate and Gavin's house is a dream and every day in Azille was an outstanding experience. The days flew by and we had a hard time to say "good bye".
The house and everything inside is extremely well maintained. The information provided by the owners (by mail or in the house) was very helpful. The owners were always extremely responsive and helpful along the entire booking process. Also the property manager did a great job in welcoming us and giving additional hints for sight seeing, dining and shopping.

Azille itself is a pleasant village and we did enjoy the people very much; they were all always friendly and helpful. We really felt like at home.

“Brilliant place - fantastic gite!!! Add this to your must do list!!!”
Reviewed 20 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Everything from start ( booking) to leaving ( with regret) was perfect. It was a challenge to find - perhaps we didn't follow Kate's directions closely enough (hint: follow Kate's directions - not the sat nav/ GPS)- but once we got there it had the WOW factor!! The gite has everything you could possibly want plus more!! It is beautiful! Everyone in the village was friendly and helpful. Visit Roman at the tourist information office ( even though Kate and Gavin have so much helpful info in the gite) he was wonderful. He took us up the bell tower (147 steps!!!) of the very nearby village church - this is what you hear ring every hour and every 1/2 hour from the gite. Azille is so close to so many places- we had wonderful day excursions- Carcasonne only 40 mins away and Caprespine ( Caves) plus many more! Supermarkets very close- just a short drive away ( La Redorte and Homps) - but the Epicerie in the village has anything you would need - it closes at 7pm.
Staying at Azille Maison has been a huge tick on my bucket list- would love to return here!!!! Thanks Kate and Gavin!

“Fabulous French rural holiday home”
Reviewed 21 January 2014 for a stay in September 2013

Azille Maison is a beautiful and very comfortable French provincial home in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France - close to the Spanish border, the Mediterranean ocean and a wealth of interesting places to visit. Hosts Kate and Gaven have arranged for every comfort and with the markets, wineries and Canal du Midi and rivers close by you can enjoy superb French cuisine and picnics. Go with friends and visit historic Carcassone, Minerve, the book binders- town, Narbonne, swim in the Mediterranean, drink Vin rose and have a fabulous and unforgettable holiday.
