This hotel is fantastic. By far the best value I have ever experienced. Guido is the best. He is a wonderful cook, manager, and gives excellent advice on sites/towns to visit. Guido suggested a few small villages to visit that we never would have know about (that you don't read about in guides). It was amazing. Our trip was just before Christmas, and we were the only ones in the hotel. It was like our own private. Every morning, Guido would prepare us a wonderful breakfast, and then we would chat with him for an hour our so, before we went off exploring. Tuscany was very quite at this time (many locals take holiday before the holidays). Many shops and restaurants were closed, but we made the best of it. Tuscany was peaceful and relaxing.
Just one piece of advice. You definitely need to have a rental car if you are staying at the hotel. It's not in town, or closed to a train. But driving around Tuscany is a wonderful experience. I would also highly recommend renting a navigation unit. It makes the driving experience less stressful, and alot more enjoyable.
Cheers Guido! We miss you!More
