We want this to be fair and balanced review of our two week family holiday this August. We travelled with our 11 year old daughter. I should mention that for the last two years we have been to Halkidiki and stayed in Ikos 5 star all inclusive hotels so that was our bench mark and expectation of holiday experience.

We stayed half board and before booking read all the usual reviews so we went with open eyes.

I will review in terms of positive and negative.

Positive

Clean, large hotel set in spacious plot.
Friendly staff.
Good size bedroom.
Lovely beach.
Great pools for kids.
Great views from all around hotel.
Fantastic maid service and very clean bedrooms.
Good buffet restaurant with good variety of food.
Great breakfasts, best meal of day. Always good service especially outside.
Gym opens early.
Pool bar staff were very friendly.
Well stocked shop which was way cheaper than expected. Great opening hours.
On site hire car company was excellent. Steve who ran it was so helpful and spoke fabulous English. Well priced with good choice of vehicles. Really quick booking system.
Complimentary fruit, juice at pool side each morning.
Lots of sun beds and nobody saving sun beds with towels.
Fast service at Airport, way quicker than Manchester!
Lots of towels and a number of stations to swap. Never seemed to run out.
Good outside showers at beach bar.

Negative

Very little to do for adults or kids.
No sign of any 'animation' team staff who offered activities if you fancied doing something. There was Yoga but that was it.
The gym is a large room with very little equipment. There is loads of space for additional equipment. Needs to be reviewed and updated.
The table tennis equipment is beyond a joke. The bats are all damaged which means you can't really play. It wouldn't take much for them to be replaced occasionally through the summer.
No activities on beach, eg water sports. I'm not suggesting speedboats but nothing you can take out on sea. Pedalo, canoes etc.
Evening entertainment was very average with hardly any guests attending. If you stayed for two weeks as we did you just got the same acts repeated in week 2. The hotel has a great amphitheatre overlooking the sea which would be perfect for a show but it was gathering dust, such a shame.
Main hotel bar was dreadful and completely soulless.
The service in buffet restaurant was weird. If you ate outside you got excellent service. If you ate inside it was very hit and miss.
The staff never once did any 'up selling' at any of the bars. Once you finished your drink you were never asked in the whole two weeks if you'd actually like another one. I don't understand this when they make good profit on drinks? Ironically in AI resorts they always offer you another drink with a smile.
Minor point but we used to joke about the stale complimentary stale crisps which you were served when you ordered a drink in main bar. Without fail they were always stale.
The A la carte restaurants were so quiet during the day. We never ate in them at night anyway.
When we arrived after the lengthy transfer we were offered a complimentary glass of fizz. I asked for a small beer but they refused.
The private taxi transfer we ordered was a battered old Merc which was in really poor condition. It simply came out of the taxi rank at airport. I think the hotel could do much more with this and professionalise the service and make it more exclusive.
The snacks at the pool bar were very limited which isn't best when there are plenty of kids about.
Beach bar was also soulless. No atmosphere, staff looked bored and preoccupied.
We saw the hotel manager occasionally around the hotel. He never spoke to us which is a stark contrast to Ikos. They make a point of chatting to guests.
The Spa was the usual over inflated prices that you see in 5 star resorts.

Overall, we were disappointed and as a family very bored by the end. We knew it was remote and we never leave the hotel normally anyway because our holidays are based around the pool relaxing, reading books and getting involved if we choose to. That's the point really with this hotel, there is nothing really to get involve with offered by the hotel. We definately won't go back.

Room Tip: All looked good with fab views of the sea. Lots of rooms have small private pools.

The hotel is amazing. The design and the location are fantastic. The beach is small but the water is beautiful and clean. The service was good and the SPA is something to try.
I also appreciated the car rental service: I found it very efficient and affordable. I definitely recommend this place.

Dear Claudio,

Thank you for your wonderful feedback.
We are more than happy to receive your praises regarding the hotel facilities and services.
As you mentioned, renting a car from our on-site company is very useful when you want to explore the island
Also, the Spa Center worth a visit, as it provides professional therapies and treatments.
Your recommendation is highly appreciated and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back next year.

Yours faithfully,

The hotel is beautiful, we had a private pool which was amazing and the room was super! The views are amazing and the beach is perfect! We had a very relaxing time! The staff were brilliant, all very friendly and helpful. The only let down was the food which was good but not amazing. There was lots of choice and the fresh fruit and salad were very yummy but all the fish was over cooked. The sushi night was however super! We would not recommend the fish restaurant above the beach as the food was like moderate pub food and hugely over priced. All together though a lovely relaxing stay.

The hotel is quite far from the airport, so I would rent a car the next time. The transfers from travel agencies takes around 2 hours or even more. The resort is beautiful, the views are stunning and the beach very clean. The food was good too and we especially liked the warm welcome from Katarina. There are many families with kids, also infants and it looked like all the necessities were available for them, we definitely consider going back once our baby is born.

As a professional on hospitality business, we were first worried to not be able to relax and enjoy our stay .
Difficult for hospitality professional to not see all problems remembering your own business.
However, from the day one, we just forget everything we felt like in heaven.
We were spoiled.
The resort Atrium Prestige is so beautiful and so unic that it make the difference with other places .
There s several restaurants in place and all of them propose different specialities and are very good .: Thai, Grec Mediterranean and a buffet restaurant where you can enjoy good vegetables, fresh fish and great meat. Always different and great selection of various plates.(great chefs!!)
The Maître d'hotel Georgios is a very involved person and his priority is the well being of the hotel client . That means a lot to him.He has a great sense of service !
He is very kind and take care of all the guests and got eyes every where over the restaurant although the restaurant was full at breakfast , lunch and dinnertime. A real professionnal that know how to host clients
All the waiters are very profy and always friendly .
Then the magnificant place is the Spa with warm salt water from the sea.
All the therapeutes are very very professional and listen to your body needed.
Elisabeth the assistant manager and therapist is pretty good to handle the space , Kalioppi she is a master on lymphatic massage ,
Christos girl friend is wonderful too
Theodora is amazing and very good therapist .
Natacha for your nails is top too.
All those professional know how to take care of you.
Din t miss the Yoga classes that are so fantastic . Nancy is a master teacher with very good vibes and energy. Very profi, friendly and with a great aura. "An angel on hearth."
You feel so good after each lesson.
We already miss her...
We have appreciated the Management that is very much involved .
You meet every day in the Hotel the Manager, Mr.Ionnadis Constantinos or the General Manager Georgios Matsigkos .They are every where in the resort and in different times of the day, they work hardly to solve all problems and they are close to every guest to increase the quality of the service,
Unfortunately one week was so short if we didn't have to fly back to US, we should stay more.
The resort is very very clean the commun area and the gardens are fabulous.
We are probably coming back with friends.
The two of us for sure.
Thank you for making our short break as a long and beautiful holidays.
We thanks all Atrium employees that are not named on our message..
