“Wonderful relaxing break”
Reviewed 28 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Ardwell East Lodge. The only regret is that we didn't have a week to spare so we could have stayed longer. The weather was perfect allowing us to explore the area, the Mull of Galloway was glorious, then relaxing in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine and a good book in the evening. The lodge was spotlessly clean, the bed was soooo comfortable and all the furnishings oozed quality. Booking was easy and Chris was most helpful with any queries we had. The lodge has everything you could wish for and the added bonus of Ardwell House gardens right out of your front door. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

“Perfect and idyllic new year getaway”

We have just returned from the most perfect getaway at East Lodge - what better way to welcome in the new year.

The lodge is situated in the beautiful grounds of Ardwell House with views across the Irish Sea which is just 200m away. It is surrounded by woodland which offers the opportunity for gorgeous short walks straight from the doorstep.

The lodge itself is beautifully decorated and has everything (and more) that you need for a lovely break. We even arrived to find a bottle wine and chocolates! This is just one of the many little touches the owners, Chris and Aileen, have thought about to make sure your stay really special.

While we were there, my wife and I enjoyed a scenic walk around the Mull of Galloway, visiting the very picturesque Port Patrick and a delicious New Year's Eve dinner in Sandhead, as well as cosy evenings spent in front of the lodge's open fire.

We could not recommend East Lodge highly enough, it really does provide a romantic and idyllic getaway.

“Great place, great location”
Reviewed 28 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We were given a warm welcome by Chris and Aileen and felt very privileged to be the first guests in their cottage. East Lodge has everything you need for a great holiday but what makes it extra special is the location. To the front is the bay where you can watch wading birds and seals and to the back is Ardwell Gardens. These are available to guests at the cottage and include woods, lakes and a walled garden. We were even treated to some produce during our stay. The cottage is very dog friendly with plenty of space inside and a small fenced garden. The beach is pebbly but at low tide does have some sand so ok for dogs to run on. Our greyhound was very happy here. We were sad to leave - its a very special place.
