“Dirtiest children's playground possibly in Canada”

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo

The animal exhibits are good and the education centre is engaging, but the sheer amount of excrement means that we have stopped going, even after buying a membership. The children's play area is through a tunnel, which is good fun for the kids to run through, but once you get to the play area, its totally secluded which concerns me. Especially as kids often go to play in there whilst parents sit in the open area by the tunnel. Last time a guy was urinating there.

Have never seen staff on site cleaning the poop. I totally get that it is natural, but the constant concern that you're going to have to clean a fallen child again means that it becomes more of a chore to go there. It's not a case of budget to have regular attention on this. It's a basic.

What a great place to taste a bit of Saskatchewan. The berries and fresh homemade product just can't be beat. It's usually steady so nice to book a table but we have been lucky enough to walk in. Do recommend a reservation though. But if you have to wait they have a great little store inside to buy some of their homemade products,to bring home for yourself or a gift for someone else. Service is good. And the food always great and fresh. We were there for dessert only this time, but have eaten a meal in the he past. Nvet disappointed. Definitely a stop you have to make. I have traveled a bit, amazing experiences including African safaris. but sometimes you need to be reminded of the wonders of your own piece of the world. I like walking at your own pace and seeing the animals from our own area, and some of the special ones we host. like the meerkats visiting for the summer starting in April. also a great place to have a picnic and enjoy Saskatoon's beautiful summer.

Great place for a family gathering to explore the wildlife at the zoo and then relax in the comfort of the park picnic areas or enjoy running around with your grandkids.

I used to go here as a kid, so my boyfriend and I went out to revisit. It's not that big and will only take you a couple hours. Admission is by donation in the winter. They try to focus on animals that are native to Canada, but there were visiting komodo dragons. You can see some large carnivores and lots of ungulates. The zoo was clean, but a bit of a ghost town in winter. It looks well maintained. Do not expect any services in the winter. It's much nicer to come out here in the summer time. This is a great place to bring kids.
