The location was better than expected!! Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance...dining, entertainment, etc. The loft itself was clean and charming...with all the amenities one could need. Sylvan..the owner...was organized and available for any help one might need. Put this all together and it spells "Great Vacation!
Superb location of the apartment allowed us an easy walk to so many must-see places in the city: Musuem of Civilization, Chateau Frontenac, Plains of Abraham, Terrasse Dufferin, to name a few. We're in our 70's and these walks were all doable. Just outside the front door are so many places to eat, some casual and some fancier. It's such an inviting street with a lively crowd into the wee hours; nevertheless, the windows muted the sounds and we slept well each night.
Having a washing machine/dryer in the unit is a definite plus because we used backpacks and so had limited clothing.
Wi-fi is also greatly appreciated as we looked for online maps.
The unit had everything as advertised, and all arrangements were readily accomplished. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped. It was right on Rue Saint-Jean in the middle of the old city – in walking distance from all the attractions. Take the #21 bus for an easy loop to the lower town and the Parliament. There are also a lot of good restaurants and shopping nearby.
My wife and I have only positive things to say about to week-long stay. The location and the loft are perfect… The building itself is an older historical building that blends with the surrounding area but is modern, secure and clean on the inside. The unit has everything one needs – even an expresso maker. We also found the building to be very quiet– just the sounds of Old Quebec. Sylvain had given us code for the front door and had the keys in a lock box for the loft. After a day of airports and fights it was it was so enjoyable to be able to easily access the loft and finally relax. The loft was more than either of us expected and became our home away from home. I also want to mention that the loft is not some small unit- it’s quite large.
The location is perfect for exploring Old Quebec. Saint Jean is a street filled with shop and restaurants. Overall, everything is within walking distance- even the far end of the ‘Plains of Abraham’. Later in the afternoon the street is closed to traffic and the local restaurants setup outdoor dining and various street performers set up. Each morning we would sit in front of the open windows with our coffee and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Quebec. The sound of horse drawn carriages on the cobble stone street was so pleasant. My wife and I love to walk and the location allowed us to investigate the various streets and discover the hidden treasures of Old Quebec. So much to see and do within a very short walk- no car needed.
I would positively recommend the loft.
