Relais and Chateaux used always to be like this- the 5 Cs..charm, courtesy, character, cuisine, and calm. (sound better in French)- some are not any more, especially in big towns, but this one exceeded expectations, and we got a very good online price. Lots of little touches, and staff went out of the way to make our short stay a memorable one. When travelling as much as we do, arriving at 1 am to a hotel this good, makes it worthwhile...separate review of their excellent restaurant. The pics show some of the hotel's elegant decorative touches- a thorough excavation of the old site yielded these fragments which are showcased all over...

This was my second stay at St. Antoine. It is the perfect small hotel. It has a story book location, beautifully designed rooms and common space, comfortable lobby, a great bar with a bar menu, friendly staff and an outstanding restaurant. Our bathroom looked and felt like a spa.

Room Tip: Ask for the 5th floor

I'm not sure what I can add to the huge list of rave reviews already written about this wonderful hotel in the heart of Old Quebec. We'll second all the applauding and cheering....

We were very lucky to book our room during a nearly half-price discount offered by Travel-Zoo. But, that didn't stop us from booking another night at full price once there to extend our stay another night. We jsut weren't ready to leave. I think this place has to be the most luxurious, as well as the most warm and welcoming hotel, we've ever stayed at. It was mjust wonderful.....

There are a hundred little things that just really added up for us. For example, the beautifully lit shadow boxes throughout the entire hotel - as well as next to your bed - with historical artifacts found during the hotel renovations. Each is fully explained and dated. There is a sense of history - and a respect for that history - permeating the entire place.

The price of this hotel makes it a splurge for us - but, there was a birthday involved and we do not regret a single penny spent for the magical time spent in Quebec City and in this Auberge as our home away from home.....

Room Tip: Hard to imagine any rooms here being less than superb....

We checked in for 2 nights and were very pleased with the room (610). It had a fireplace, terrace, king bed, oversized bathrrom and looked up to the Chateau Frontenac. Our room was not ready at 1pm when we checked in, so we dropped our bags and walked the old town streets. The hotel has excellent service, Panache is a wonderful restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Hot Chocolate in the bar was very nice on a cold, rainy and windy afternoon. We paid $350/night and I was pleased with the value.

“Located in the lower town away from the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance to some delicious restaurants. This truly was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in — absolutely gorgeous rooms, comfortable sitting areas and some of the best food we’ve had — breakfast, lunch or dinner, it was all amazing!”
