When my boys say at the end of a vacation thanks for an amazing time I know it was a good one. This winter has not been the best for snow and winter activities so this is just what we needed. The ice hotel is not only unique but a breathtaking place to walk into and around. The boys loved getting a lemonade in a ice glass and sitting around in the cave like sitting areas. No worries about sleeping being the sleeping bags were perfect to keep you warm throughout the night. The staff are friendly and informative. This is my husband and my second stay and having the lockers in a warm area is a nice improvement. Although the Celsius food area is not gourmet it is nice to have if you need a bit of a snack and the food was adequate for what it is. All and all this was a place that was fun and made a amazing family memory

We visited the ice hotel on a tour - did not stay overnight. The place itself is very impressive and interesting to see. We also paid for a lunch package - it was quite decent for $10 extra. In addition we paid $5 per person for the outdoor activities. That was not worth the money at all. All you get for $5 is an extremely small and slow tubing hill. You can also go on a snow shoe trail but for that you either have to have your own snow shoes or to rent some from them. They would not let us walk the trail without the snow shoes on even though it was quite walkable - no deep snow at all.

Room Tip: i guess the one with a fireplace

Shhhh, don't tell anybody but if you really want to stay here, remember it is 90% reserved but the other 10% is available at a lower rate if you get there in the evening. The rooms are very interesting as each room has it's own design. You can even get a suite with a hot tub and sauna and fireplace...but alas, no heat. If you need the washroom you need to walk to the Chalet but who cares, SLEEPING IN AN ICE HOTEL fabulous....The bars are amazing, the staff friendly and the glasses are ICE. The chapel is perfect for a wedding or just if you want to sit and contemplate. All in all a very different experience. Loved it.

We went this past weekend and did the "romantic getaway" package. It was a completely different experience. Temperature in the hotel de glace is a steady 23-25 degrees. It is a remarkable engineering accomplishment, complete with multiple bars, televisions, and a church in which one may marry and seat about 80. However three things to remember: 1) you use nordic sleeping bags and they are SNUG. They make a big deal in the presentation about snugging up the opening, but at 23-25 degree you can sleep with your whole face out and be alot more comfortable...2) We had a "fireplace" as part of our room.....but no fire was lit. There is no warmth to speak of from these but make sure that you have them build a fire! I mean, duh, right? 3) You are only in the room from 9-9.

Room Tip: All room themes vary. Request one for you. 11 and 1 are nice.
