We stayed 5 nights in June. The hotel staff were delightful, helpful, knowledgeable about surrounding areas and did all they could to make our stay really enjoyable. Our sink sprang a leak the first evening, a plumber fixed it the next day. We were in room 24, which was very small. Its 'private' bathroom was across the main hall and first floor staircase, so not very private, it too was very small. If you are staying longer than one night make sure you get a larger room. The hotel had a home feel due to 'home' style furnishings and decorations, the breakfast room/lounge was very comfortable and we ate our evening (picnic) meal in there. The breakfast was continental but vast - lovely fresh French pastries, cereal, toasts, ham, cheeses, fruit and juice, coffee - fantastic.

Room Tip: Ask which room you are in, make sure it will be large enough. Room 24 is very compact.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for your recent stay at Château Fleur de Lys and for your nice review as well as for your compliments about our staff and our breakfast.

Regarding your comment about the size and the bathroom of our guest room, we take the opportunity you give us to remind to all readers that a full description of our rooms (including the size, facilities and special specs) is available on our website and on all the other websites, and travellers have the possibility to choose the category of room they want according their budget, their expectations and priorities.

More especially about our 2 "Guest Rooms", these small rooms with private bathroom outside the room (all our other category of rooms have their bathroom inside the room), are proposed at a very attractive price. The price for these rooms are from 84$ (low season) to 109$ (high season) while the average rate per night in the old Quebec City is, during the high season, around 160$ and a room with shared bathroom in a Hostel is sold between 92 and 107$ for 2!
The good value of this category of rooms, low price combined with a lot of facilities (Queen Bed, Free Wifi, Flat TV, air conditioning) is particulary appreciated by travellers who don't want to spend to much money in their room and want to stay in the middle of the Historic District of the Old Quebec City.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you for another stay, and this time please do not hesitate to experiment one of our larger rooms in the Superior Room category.

Warm regards,

Olivier & Romuald (the owners)

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was the perfect location. The room was exquisitely decorated and had so much rustic chic French charm - perfection! We stayed in the "black room" (room 26). While smaller than a lot of chain hotel rooms - it more than makes up with style and charm! You must stay in this room for a romantic occasion!

the hotel is also steps away from the waterfront; chateau Frontenac; and countless other attractions! The front desk staff are very helpful and really care about their guests! As I said it my title - book this hotel righ away!

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for choosing our hotel to celebrate your 3rd wedding anniversary and for your sweet words on Tripadvisor.

We are really very happy that you have loved our black room, our last renovated room. As you said, this room is not very large but we have tried (and if we understand you correctly we have succeeded) to bypass this constraint by working on the decorative elements and the room height (more than 12 feet). For your information, except some lights, all the other furnitures of this room have been found in Antique shops in Canada, Usa, and France, some have been restored but some are used unaltered. For Tripadvisor users, you will find a selection of pictures of this room on Pinterest and Facebook.

Please do not hesitate to come to celebrate your 4th wedding anniversary with us and to enjoy one of our other rooms (some project are already planified for the next summer).

Warm regards,

Olivier & Romuald

This is a great hotel in a perfect location. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and were flexible to our late arrival time. The hotel decor is great fun and we felt at home very quickly. The staff made great recommendations of where to eat and activities to do.

Room Tip: Request a room with bathroom inside (ours was across the hall)

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for your recent stay and for these kind words on Tripdavisor.

Even if your review is short, it expresses exactly what we desire to offer to our guests : a hotel different from the others leads by friendly and professional staff with a keen sense of the hospitality. To illustrate this desire we have chosen to add the word L'HOTEL (The Hotel) after the name Château Fleur de Lys, and it is always pleasant for us to read that our guests appreciate what we offer to them : Something Unique in a Unique City.

Looking forward to welcome you for another stay, and in the meantime please do not hesitate to follow the adventures of Château Fleur de Lys - L'HOTEL on Facebook.

Warm regards,

I made a last second reservation at Chateau Fleur de Lys for a business trip back in May and was astounded by the attention of the staff and the beauty of the property. The receptionist was wonderful and very patient as I stumbled through conversations in French. Of course she spoke English fluently, but allowed me to practice French which is more than I can say for other places in town. I rented the room without an attached bathroom, but that didn't cause any problems as I was travelling alone and was in the hotel much. The room had it's own sink which was great for water or brushing teeth. Anyway, it was a beautiful hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

We Enjoyed a Wonderful stay here!!! The Staff and owners showed exceptional personal attention and took care of all our needs, making us feel so welcome. We had many questions and if they did not know the answer off hand they would research it and find the answers for us. We chose Quebec City to spend our 25th Wedding Anniversary and our experience at the Chateau Fleur de Lys was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay, looking forward to returning this fall with our family :)

Dear Karin and Darrin,

Many thanks for your recent stay at Château Fleur de Lys and for your very warm review on Tripadvisor.

We are delighted to have contributed to make your 25th wedding anniversary memorable and we hope that you will come with your childrens in fall.

About this next stay, if you plan to come this year, you should not wait too long before to do your booking. Indeed, September and October are very busy months for the city and for our hotel more especially the last week of September and the first week of October (period where you are almost sure to see the fall colours)

Looking forward to welcome you very soon with your whole family,

Warm regards and thank you again,

Olivier & Romuald.
