We went there on a Sunday night, didn't feel like cooking at home. And surprise! There are quite a few types of soup base to choose from: spicy, non-spicy, party size, individual size, etc. Unlimited supply of lamb and beef, and choices of veges and other meet such as seafood are provided.

Drink choices are a bit limited, there are only iced-tea, fruit punch, and some other one.

Still, was a good experience. Will come back definitely.

I love this little gem that only found now. Great fondue place that is fresh and many choices to choose from. so many great item to choose for your fondue and the fondue soup base is really good. Great for family especially on a cold winter day. It is a bit far from downtown but it is a great place to have a great dinner. Their fondue meat is really good and fresh.

There is a reason why in French we call «Fondue Chinoise»... a Chinese Fondue... «Lo and behold»!!!!!! I found out why!!!! It comes from the Mongolian Hotpots.

Let me explain then provide my review: the original Chinese version of FONDUE is referred as Mongolian Hotpot. Why? Mostly because it refers to several East Asian varieties of stew, consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. It also seems to have originated in Mongolia before spreading throughout China. (Source: Wikipedia).

My spouse had found the place in November and loved it. It was good and cheap and kept talking about it. So we tried it together the following weekend. Here is my review:

Look and Feel: The restaurant was clean and well decorated. It was not «plush» or «posh» the feel was more Family-cafeteria... but so what (that night anyways!) there are about 10 banquette-seats, 5 or 8 rectangular, square or round family size tables as well. Remember... this place is for sharing!!! The place was not crowded that night. Mostly families and groups (mostly Asian). It was going to be good!!!!! (I thought) The place is kid friendly.

Service and food: we were directed to a banquette-seat fairly fast. I believe the owner (wife and husband duo), a lady, asked us which broth we wanted: original, Tom Yum or Spicy. We chose Tom Yum and spicy. Our pot was separated in two (later saw on the web some have Ying-Yang type design) with our chosen broth in each compartment. The broth was simply delicious!!! Beware!!! The spicy one is Spicy. We love spicy food and can wit-stand the spiciest.... this was S-P-I-C-E-Y!!! Yuuummmm!

If my boyfriend had not explained that I need to go to the fridges on the wall to chose my veggies, seafood, noodles, etc. I would not have known....He learned by having to wait, look around and then ask tones of questions. So:
- It's self serve, buffet style
- You choose what you want to steam cook
- you choose and mix your own sauce
- they bring you meat, mostly pork and lamb

Make sure to ask for extra bowls or plate (or take empty bowl when you choose your dip), to use as your “eating plate”. I'm a bit paranoid about cross-contamination (cooked meat put on plates that had raw items... (we tend to do when eating fondues!!!).

One thing though... they didn't come back to give us water, as you have to go get your drinks at the «soda fountain» (peach, ice tea and something else... all very sweet).

The food was.... Delicious! I just LOVE the concept.

Remember... you have to eat EVERYTHING you choose! There is actually a a warning on the wall of our «stall».

They do serve alcohol but we didn't know before arriving at the cash to pay for our meal and saw some wine bottles and the alcohol permit (of course).

Went with my friends to this place when they were just open. Better than Little Sheep Mongolia at Chinatown. Don't know if they offer alcohol now. Flavor is good and most important is you take what you like. No need to fill up any paper and wait for a small quantity food.
