Description: Aburi Restaurant's first East Coast flagship is situated in Toronto's harbourfront at Bay and Queens Quay. With over 7000 square feet of dining space, a raw bar, sushi bar, and spacious patio, Miku Toronto brings contemporary upscale dining and design to the Southern Financial District. Expanding east from roots in Vancouver, Aburi Restaurants and Miku Vancouver are known both locally and internationally for the innovative concept of Aburi Sushi. Corporate Executive Chef Kazuya Matsuoka brings Aburi Cuisine to Toronto by combining traditional Japanese flavours and techniques with local, East Coast elements to create a truly unique dining experience. Miku Toronto's menu focuses on Aburi Sushi as well as fresh seafood, respecting the natural flavours of the ingredients while adding a signature Aburi twist. Japanese and European inspired desserts made in house by our pastry team create the perfect ending to the culinary experience. The restaurant also hosts an extensive wine, sake, and cocktail list to pair with all dining occasions. The first of Aburi Restaurants' East Coast locations, we can expect more to follow in the coming years.

Miku is to your run of the mill all you can eat sushi establishment what a Rolls Royce is to an ancient Volkswagen -- not that there's anything wrong with either. If you like fine food and are anywhere along the Toronto waterfront, take some time for your taste buds.

Much of the sushi is "Aburi" style, meaning each piece is flamed with a torch and served with its own sauce. The pieces are attractively presented and garnished with imaginative and tasty tidbits.

I went for the Aburi Prime set menu (C$98) and the sake pairing (C39), a most enjoyable dinner experience. Out of all the lovely courses, what stands out are the Sablefish, which is also known as black cod, and a few pieces of sushi: the wagyu beef and the crab with truffle oil.

As important as the food, serving staff know the food well. They were able to answer all my questions about the food they served. They were also both pleasant and efficient.

Well worth the visit. I know Toronto has a wealth of sushi establishments, from the aforesaid all you can eat to some quite outstanding little places. Mike is a good place to up your sushi experience.

My husband and I went on a date night. Being from Vancouver moved to Toronto we were excited of the new Miku location. The atmosphere was casual laid back with a combination of tables and booth like seating. The hostess was very on top of any allergies we addressed. This place is very family friendly for there were lots of families with young kids sitting in booths. We ordered 2 set menu meal options. The food was very beautifully plated. Some items sit on beds of salt so be aware of what is suppose to be edible on the plate. The salt resembled radish turnip so it was mistaken on my part. By far the sushi was delicious. Far better than the cooked part of the set menu. If we go again we will only do sushi.
They prices were expensive for a casual setting. Fine dining prices. There is a bar you can sit around and drink at the bar with t.v.

Loved it, the atmosphere too. Cocktails and food are pricey, but worthy. Dont miss the sprouts with bacon, you will like more.

Staff at this high-end Japanese restaurant are very attentive and gracious. They were helpful in guiding us towards food our picky eating teenagers would enjoy. The clientele is definitely a “see & be seen” crowd, as well as business types (complete with luggage). We enjoyed the delicious food and tried dishes we might not have without recommendations from the staff. It’s a pleasure to be greeted upon arrival and to be wished well by the kitchen staff upon departure. It’s those small things that make a big difference with the overall experience. Well worth the cost!
