Went there for dinner for a birthday celebration with our children. Service was excellent as was the food. There were six of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. They brought our son a warm cookie and ice cream for his birthday.

We arrived at 5:15PM, for dinner, as we were attending a performance at the Toronto Center for the Arts. Service was fine, but the show was at 7:00, so we were on a bit of a time schedule.
Three people of our party of four had the regular portion of spare ribs. We all found them
A) burnt
B) dry
C) lots of bone, but very little meat.
Zero point in complaining, as we did not have time to have new ones cooked for us, and again, their would be little meat on the bone. The spare ribs were like what I purchased on sale at rock bottom prices more than 20 years ago, (having a mortgage and five mouths to feed)... little meat on the bones.

We heartily recommend YOU NOT EAT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Stopped in with my Wife for dinner last night. Was very disappointed with the service. It took over 15 minutes for the server to stop by our table and another 15 minutes to receive our drink order. This was very disappointing. Appears to be a poorly managed restaurant that was understaffed and no presence of a manager or person of responsible charge. I do appreciate that the server did the best that he could under the circumstances. However as a business, you need to have a full compliment of staff to meet the needs of the paying customers.

I will not return to this brand.

Strange that for as expensive (though not ourtageously so) as this restaurant is, slight variations in requests/orders cannot be accommodated. We were told that the food/its components arrive at the kitchen in pre-measured/pre-mixed proportions, etc. Too bad. Really too bad. Unanimously, the responses of the different staff members to whom I made the request on behalf of a member of our group were pleasant. (The staff is well-trained and always very pleasant.) But that did not help the overall dining experience. The kitchen does not have the facility to make alterations to the individual dishes. The food is quite good. Tasty options other than red meat. The luxe ambience is what one would expect from a casual restaurant with aspirations to presenting a classy and upscale dining venue. No dress code is posted, but this is not the kind of place to which one would enter wearing a wet bathing suit, for example. (Or dirty work clothes, for that matter.) Can get very busy. One can choose to construe lengthy waits for food as leisurely dining. Facilities are clean, as should be. Paid parking. Despite what I see as the shortcomings of a fairly expensive restaurant, I'd be content enough to go again, should this be where the rest of the family chooses to gather.

I would recommend the Rouge as a solid value for a higher end Restaurant.
Had a bit of the steak as well and it was very good.
