“Nice hotel but overpriced for location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2012

We stayed in the lotus suite. The room was clean and it was nice to have the bedroom separated from the living and kitchen area. We are from the US and that said, we are still trying to determine what the myriad of odd charges are on our credit card from this hotel. When we asked during the stay, the front desk nonchalantly said they were incidental charges that would be removed when we left. Well, they are still there, and we never got an explanation for why they were charged or what exactly they were for.
The hotel is nice enough but it is in the financial/business district where's theres not much going on during the weekend. It is walk able to eaton center and the baseball stadium, but it is a bit run down and deserted in between all those attraction. Eaton Center is not as nice as is once was. Shopping in Bloor-Yorkville is better and we will probably try to stay in that area next visit.
The Market street area was a nice neighborhood to walk to, but again, only had a handful of restaurants and really no shops.
So- this hotel is fine if you are ok with being overcharged for only a so-so neighborhood. If you are there on business closeby and your company is footing the bill then definitely stay here!

I spent memorial weekend at the cosmo hotel with my boyfriend. I saw this deal on groupon. Once i enter, It felt like a zenny spa. I was greeted right a way upon arrival. Checking in was a breeze. Our room was amazing. We had partial view of the CN tower and the bay. The room was clean and amazing. We didn't have any trouble with the groupon deal and was treated like everyone else. Overall, it must say that i visit was terrific one and if i every visit Toronto again i will stay here.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor. We were on the 18th and got partial views. Higher the better

I've traveled a lot around the world and stayed at many different types of hotels. Cosmopolitan Hotel has been one of the best stays I've had! The staff is kind, friendly, inviting and accomodating. The rooms are calming, clean and comfortable. They have all the basic amenities and more- washer and dryer, mini kitchen and even and "intimacy kit" (in case you're on that type of trip) in the room. They leave incense each night and a unique gemstone on your pillow. I've found that in many large hotels you have to keep the air conditioning really high to avoid that " hotel smell" and humidity, but here the temp was perfect and no funky smells or humidity. The front desk staff went out of their way to help us order food from a restaurant one evening when we were really tired. After parking our car in the garage, I realized I left my sunglasses in the console. The valet very kindly brought the glasses all the way up to our room. The hotel location is very ideal. Easy walk to all the main points and just a sub or trolley ride anywhere else. Overall, one of the best trips I've had, especially due to the Cosmopolitan!

The service is outstanding and is the only reason the hotel gets as many stars as I'm giving it. The suite rooms are spacious and the kitchenette is handy for stakeout snacks and breakfast basics, but the tv is dated and the cordless phone kept cutting out. Had to give up and use the tethered phones in the bedroom and the desk. The washroom only has a stand up shower stall but it is very clean. I love that the bedroom is separate from the living room/kitchenette area, but the room is small-ish with only a double bed. The dressers feel flimsy, but there is ample drawer space. ThEre is a second tv in the Bedroom, so it solved the "what to watch" dilemma we usually have. It would have been nice to know about the apt-sized washer/dryer beforehand, but maybe next time.

The location is excellent. Just behind the King Eddy hotel and steps from the King subway and King streetcars. Also within a few blocks of Front St., Union station, Eaton Centre, and Queen St. Cars.

The front desk staff are second to none! Absolutely so gracious and helpful when you have questions. They will go out of their way to find answers for you.

Valet parking is the way to go when it's busy. You have to plan about 15-20 minutes ahead for this option. But well worth the extra $5 per night over the nearby self-park options.

We found a great online deal for this trip and would return.

I am one of those people who can't be hermitically sealed in a hotel room and the Cosmo offers windows that open as well as balconies. The rooms are spotless and as a yogini, I appreciate the mat in the room. The spa services are just okay but the Zen room adjacent to the spa is a heavenly retreat.
The location is ideal and I like the intimate feel of the hotel. I do feel that the continental breakfast i overpriced at $15.00 and the concierge services can be spotty depending on who is behind the desk.
Because I travel solo, it would be lovely to have a list of things to do, restaurants within walking distance and some suggestions of sight seeing tours for each room.
I've been a guest twice before and will be returning for my daughter's baby shower in June. Needless to say when the little one is born, I'll be back even more often!
