We received a groupon from our daughter for tapas at embryo. We had never done a tapas meal before and would recommend it highly.
Goat cheese and walnut salad - yummy, mushrooms in butter and garlic - little to much salt but very tasty-
Meat and cheese board very good, paella bomba excellent and Mucho gusto.
Wait staff were attendant, but not overpowering.
Flamenco entertainment was very passionate.

A nice warm welcoming place for dinner.
We had a great time with a bunch of friends (6 adults) and 2 kids.
This place also has live performance later in the evening and the dancer/singer was also very good.
The place is loud and noisy which is not a problem at all for me. Everyone was having a good time and there were other big groups as well. I just mentioned, in case you were looking for a quiet place for dining out.
Food, yes, that of course is the best part of this place. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu and each and every one of them were GREAT. The service was also decent.
Overall a fantastic evening and a great place, Will definitely come back again.

Valentine's Day Dinner 2016: Our reservation was for 7:45pm but we arrived 40 minutes early & boy were we happy we did. The restaurant was 2/3 full & we were seated right away at a table of our choice. We had been here a few years earlier for the same occasion & had a wonderful time. We had booked a fixed price dinner along with the Flamenco Dance Show. The tables are very small & cramped, we sat near the front of the stage. Two different waiters took our order. Very quickly our first dishes of bacon wrapped dates in honey & paella with mussels arrived along with our drinks. A bread with dipping sauce also arrived which was lovely but both ice cold, our bacon/ figs were also barely warm like they had been sitting somewhere off to the side. The paella was great. The room filled up & many people stood in line at the door mostly ignored by the staff. People waited more than half an hour in line at the door & we could hear all had reservations. This made for an uncomfortable dining atmosphere. Tensions rose & we reminded one of our waiters that we had not received our bottle of wine yet. Clearly under staffed, he scampered off to get our wine. Nearly 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived & had to be held while our table was cleared. Then the show started, people still standing at the door waiting to be seated. The guitar player & the Flamenco Dancer who we had seen before were excellent. However a third person a woman who sat & sang was awful ! The dancer did 3 dances the rest of the time all 3 performers sat while the singer wailed. Note to restaurant, cut the singer she adds nothing to the entertainment value. The show suddenly ended no one was sure if another set was coming. We asked a waiter who told us in the afternoon sitting the entertainers had performed 3 sets. The pricing had been the same as per their advertising we felt the value was certainly not there !
All in all our entrees were very good so too the desserts of flan & almond tart. However NEVER were we asked if we wanted after dinner drinks or coffee but the bill was slapped down on our table in an attempt to empty the room. Other diners were treated the same. Thank goodness it was Valentine's Day because everyone just wanted a happy time out. The restaurant needs to plan better for these occasions and turning over the tables is essential between the sittings ( less sets would help this problem). The food is very good, under staffing & very poor execution with inconsistent entertainment value leaves us with no desire to return. This was a blatant cash grabbed cupid !!

horrible experience February 14th 2016....We booked a reservation for two last night (Valentines Day) for 7:30. What a disappointment for a special evening out. We were not seated until almost an hour later, and our food did not come to our table until almost 3 hours later!!! We were just eating our first plate just after 10 PM...We were starved and frustrated. People who were seated after us received their full meals well before we received our first plate. No Serrano boards were on the menu, and the couple who sat beside us ordered two lamb plates, to which they only received one...the waiter came to their table towards the end of their evening and asked them what they were missing, only to find out that they had run out of lamb!!! The special guest flamenco artist only performed for about 15-20 minutes and after previously frequenting this restaurant we were looking forward to at least a 45 minute show. Poorly managed, under staffed, over booked, unprofessional, and over priced considering the experience and service. The should not have got any gratuity but unfortunately to our surprise it was already included on our bill. Needless to say I will NEVER eat there again, I will take my business elsewhere!

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to try this place as it was fairly close to where we were. I'm glad we did as we were not disappointed. Six of us went on a Saturday night and they had live entertainment which was just a bonus to the very good food we ordered. We tried various dishes with the help of our waiter who made excellent suggestions. We had enough for everyone with the various delishious tapas. We also ordered a paella for the table. It was incredible and I highly recommend ordering it. It was a highlight of the meal. The night was not cheap but Tapas in Toronto just isn't cheap.
