I try and come to "Toronto the Good: when the annual "Taste of the Danforth" event is happening. This event alone is worth the trip. Three solid days of great street and restaurant food, entertainment, and giveaways. It is the best for place singles, families, and extended family adventures in being Greek.

I love the Danforth. There is so much to do, so much to see. The ever-changing nature of the Danforth makes visits on a regular basis necessary just to keep up with the changes. The staple event of course is the Taste of the Danforth every August. You can enjoy tasty Greek delights in a mini-carnival street festival that is spread across a solid ten plus blocks over three days. Expect crowds and an awesome time! The Danforth has great shopping as well as great food and it's very Toronto. As much as the Danforth is Greektown, there's great Japanese buffets, highly regarded Spanish Tapas and great Italian fare. There's breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and desserts all available with the shopping for wedding dresses, clothing, cameras and so much more in between meals to burn off those calories. The Danforth would be second or third on my list of areas to visit in Toronto after downtown. No trip though, to Toronto is complete without a visit to the Danforth!

Quite the collection of Greek restaurants, shops, even a cute little church to pop into. It appears there's also a mix of other ethnic groups moving into this charming area as well. But there's nothing like popping into one of the bakeries for baklava or a restaurant for a little ouzo and spanakopita. Very easy to get to and from on the subway. Wide sidewalks make it easy for strollers and wheelchairs.

This is a must see in my opinion if you are a Toronto visitor or resident. The shops and restaurants make you feel as you were in Greece. Very authentic.
