First of all because of the location south of downtown, close to everything ..... Plus we can eat and discover in the same place the most Canadian specialties: seafood (fish & chips, scallops...), amazing mustards, butter tartlets (with or without pecans, the debate is still open...), game meats, plus various world cuisines (my cabbage roll at each visit, real Ukrainian sausages, Italian expresso...)... Expensive european cheeses and rare hams are all there too... Con’s (in my opinion) is the rather aggressive reception of the meat counter vendors who jump on you just as you approach their superb showcases filled with incredible pieces of meat !! Do not forget to visit the basement full of everything (food, sweeties and souvenirs) and also the exhibition of the gallery upstairs, with panoramic views of this fantastic market ... Photo!

Lots of fresh food to purchase. If you don't have a kitchen at your hotel of traveling there is a limited number of places to eat. Very cool vibe well worth walking around.

Without any doubt THE place for any foodie to go in Toronto !

Over two floors this is heaven

It is very very busy though !

Especially on Saturdays and I did find it almost claustrophobic and stuffy

Lots to see and if your buying lots to choose from, butchers, veggies, fruit, cheese, bread and all manner of spices, condiments, relishes and everything else you could imagine

Also the place for a famous bacon peameal sandwich. Personally I wasn’t that over enamoured (the relish made it)

Loved visiting this spot. It was such a cool and historic part of Toronto. The seafood joint in the back was delicious and it was so great seeing all the different stations inside.
