The Stratford Shakespeare Festival is something we look forward to each season from spring until Fall. The performances include not only Shakespeare but musicals and plays that appeal to all ages, with outstanding and well known artists There s the amazing large Festival Theatre plus three others. It's in the most beautiful small city of Stratford with many great restaurants and shopping. It is on a river with an endless park and paths to walk.
Wonderful, just wonderful

I love the plays here, don't get me wrong. But ever since Justin Bieber became famous Stratford has monopolized on that. It's not the same as it once was. The ticket prices are RIDICULOUS. I'd take a pass on this one.

Thank you for your feedback, we value the opinions of all of our patrons. It is our goal to ensure that our productions are available to everyone who wants to see them. To make sure that everyone is able to attend we have scheduled discount programs such as TiXX with $29 tickets for Festival theatre balcony, Family Experience tickets for kids at $36, Rush tickets on most performances (up to 50% off), reduced C-zone seats at $49 and our PlayOn program which offers people 16-29 $25 tickets. In addition we offer many specials throughout the season on Facebook, Twitter and online savings through our website. We have made a concerted effort to maintain ticket prices, and since 2009 the price of a ticket has remained the same or decreased. Lastly, when you purchase during our pre-season booking period prices are reduced by as much as 25%. We’d love to welcome you back to our theatres again, if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to call us directly at 1.800.567.1600.

I've seen about 8 or ten shows here, including Hamlet, Dracula, and a few others. All the venues are terrific and you would be hard pressed to find this kind of quality stage play anywhere in the world. In March, they have the behind the scenes tour and you can check out the actors training for fight scenes, stage hands creating backdrops, etc. Fantastic restaurants and shops all around, including one of the best Italian restaurants I've been too, and a great little toy shop. Downtown inns and b&B's are great romantic getaways.

This is wonderful city that is only 35 minutes from my home. The city is a very picturesque community with a main street full of intersting shops and eateries, many having outddor patios during the summer months. The productions that we have attended have always been of the highest calibre and enjoyable with the opportunity to see performances from famous Canadian and International performers. At times we will go just for the ambiance without attending the theatre.

Book ahead so that you get the seats you would like. The acting is amazing. I am always transported. I suggest booking a few plays in a row if you only have one weekend to make of it. I book about four to five plays, minimum, each year. I love it! Also, it is worth meandering through the park and the town. Just lovely!

Bring a camera. There is garden and flower photography, interesting events on the river, the town, the island, and so much more.

Leave the poor swans alone: they need some peace.
