The house was nice, a little dated but good for sleeping and making food. Pelee Island was a fun time
My friend Mark, an ex navy guy, and myself, a former merchant seaman, thought the ferry ride to Pelee would be a kick, but getting there was only half the fun.
Initially, none of the islanders had ever heard of the "Copper Acorn", and we wondered what we were in for. On arrival at the old farmhouse, just the rural, rustic setting had us perked up and making cracks about slasher films of the old days.Once inside we were right away set at ease, and commented about how cool the place actually was. We brought plenty of beer, but in the morning had to make the short trek to the local co-op for food items that lasted us the stay.
Excellent location, with a nice bench across the road to check out the lake.
Up here, you don't need to lock your doors, and the locals are wonderful.
Looking foreward to a return trip, but next time bringing my Jeep and staying a week. In summary, a most enjoyable little adventure. Excellent!
