This is my second time staying at a Le Germain hotel, but my first time at the Ottawa location. I love the modern feel of the hotel and the rooms. The bed and room furniture are comfortable and the little side table/desk are perfect for takeout meals. (The mini bar fridge works great for leftovers too!) The Nespresso coffee maker in the room is a nice feature, especially on wintery days.

One suggestion would be for a boot tray/mat in the room - it's Ottawa in the winter - this would be much better than boots on the tile!

The location is very walkable; it's a quick walk to Byward Market and just a little longer to Sparks Street and Parliament. It's very close to the Canal as well.

The staff were friendly and helpful. There's no Valet service right now, but we were able to park in the connected garage for $35 plus tax a day. It's a little pricey if you ask me, but worth it to avoid lugging a suitcase through the snow. They have a text service where you can simply text a request to the hotel staff for any items you need. This was a quick way to get extra Nespresso pods or glassware brought to the room.

There were two things that brought this review down. The connector to stream on the TV wasn't functioning properly for us. Considering this might be our cable, we requested another one from the hotel (iPad connector) and there was none available. We tried wireless streaming to the tv and that didn't work well either. We could have asked for someone to come to our room to try and fix it, but that's not a great option during Covid. Normally I wouldn't even care about this, but there are limited entertainment options these days and the ability to connect to the large screen tv matters.

My second concern was the noise from large trucks in the morning. We were on the 7th floor and it was loud! No need for a wake up call here.

I recommend speaking to the hotel when making a reservation and specifically requesting a quiet room.

Room tip: Ask for a quiet room - street/truck noise can be loud

Suite 1101-
Large, clean, bright room with a modern decor. Perfect for the three of us.
Practical table with kitchen area for our meals, especially with a 5 year old child.
The service was really excellent.

We had a lot of fun and it felt really good to travel again. We forgot for a few days the pandemic reality ...

My new home when visiting Ottawa.

We spent two nights at Le Germain at the beginning of December. The hotel is clean, well decorated and in a great location, close to the ByMarket, Rideau Canal, Parliament and several restaurants / shops.

We chose an executive room, which was beautiful, clean and large. The bathroom has a large shower and a separate bath: the floor-to-ceiling window offers a beautiful view of the city.

Technically, we could communicate with the front desk by text (which is handy when we are outside the hotel), but that doesn't always work: better to use the classic method of the room phone.

The staff were courteous. They responded kindly to all our requests.

We highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again on our next visit to Ottawa.

Unfortunately, we stayed during COVID which limited the amount we could enjoy this very nice hotel. Our Classic room with the king bed was beautiful and modern. The bed was VERY comfortable and the in-floor heating in the bathroom area was quite a treat. Everything about the room was just great. The only small issue we found was that it took quite a long time for the water in the shower to get hot. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful at all times. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

An atypical review, but an important one: I gifted my mom a mini stay-cation at this property. Kayla and the Le Germain team were fantastic, helping to coordinate a few extra surprises for her much deserved break. Their staff were a dream to work with, and that experience was entirely reflected in my mom's stay. She returned home rested and refreshed, noting especially that the room and its view were stunning, that their beds live up to the hype (wildly comfortable!), and that their staff truly set a new standard! I've been fortunate to stay at a handful of 5-star properties around the world, and it's remarkable to have had that experience without setting foot in the hotel myself. Thank you, Le Germain Hotel Ottawa!
