My wife and I are members with the hotel fitness club so we sometimes go here for lunch. The food is usually pretty good but the service is routinely horrible. Even when the restaurant is empty, you can still sit and wait for an excessive amount of time.
Today was our last visit to Vintages as the waitresses had no interest in even acknowledging we were there.
As per usual, we sat ourselves down and the place had customers at 4 other tables some of which who looked like they had finished their meals and were ready to leave. We waited a few minutes and nothing. 5 minutes in we thought we were going to get served but the employee just cleared the table next to us and quickly vanished out of sight.
During our first 10 minutes we noticed at least four employees (including the bartender) wandering around the room without the slightest inclination to say hello or bring over a menu.
Finally after the 10 minute mark, we got up and proceeded to leave the restaurant and as we walked passed the waitresses none of them could be bothered to ask if we needed anything.
Once we reached the front lobby my wife spoke with the restaurant manager who said she would speak to the staff and suggested we try the other restaurant in the hotel.
For the prices this place has on food, service should be top notch. This was unacceptable and I recommend you visit one of the many other restaurants in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
