Our Falls View Room provided a spectacular view of both the falls. We could sit and look at them in the night when they were illuminated and watch the fireworks. The room was clean and the staff were very polite and professional.
Our room was near the elevator, which was noisy and with people coming and going at all hours made it difficult to sleep.

Room Tip: The falls view rooms are expensive but worth it. Request room not near elevator.

If you are staying at the Sheraton on the Falls ensure you have an outside facing room or otherwise your room will have no natural light and it is like living in a cave.

Also try to ensure that there is not a large tour group or conference in residence to ensure you have a chance of getting breakfast at a reasonable hour.

All in all it must be one of the worst hotels I have stayed at and it puts a bad light on the name Sheraton. It fits in very well with the rest of Niagara Falls which, apart from the Falls themselves, is pretty tacky and somewhere to avoid if at all possible.

Hello Keith D,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your stay at the Sheraton on the Falls, although we are sorry to hear that you weren't able to enjoy your time with us.
Unfortunately during this season we find ourselves quite busy with conferences and groups so our other departments can be a little busy.
Now, in the event that you are unhappy with your room type we do always encourage you to give our guest services team a call so that we may see if our availability allows us to put you in a more comfortable space.

The room was very nice with nice linens. Not a view of the falls but was OK. The service was excellent and the location was perfect. Had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel called "Windows" Pricey but very good and had a table at the window overlooking the falls that were lit up. We could walk to the boat from the hotel in the morning.

The hotel was booked as part of my sister and brother in law's 40th wedding anniversary trip, the tour operator and myself contacted the hotel in advance to let them know, and the hotel was generous enough to give them a plain postcard wishing them a happy anniversary,, HOW VERY GENEROUS!!! And despite the fact that we'd booked their anniversary dinner in their a la carte restaurant Windows by Jamie Kennedy the menu on the website is not quite the same as the actual menu and neither my husband nor I can remember what we ate-- so memorable EH?, We ate breakfast at the fallsview buffet there each morning, and after all that they couldn't even give them a bottle of wine or a complementary breakfast. The celebratory dinner was OK, but why the waiter who was very nice and efficient kept telling people something tasted like October I do not know as I have no idea what October tastes like! The buffet breakfast service was ok on the first morning, but on the second the service was dire, but the choice was fine although I thought expensive.
Both couples booked a fallsview room, the view was lovely, the bed comfortable, but the room like the rest of the hotel is tired and in urgent need of redecorating and upgrading. Check in and out was fine, but it's major appeal is it's location.

Room Tip: Fallsview room definitely

The Sheraton on the falls is what you would expect from a Sheraton in a big tourist destination.

The location is good, almost directly across from the US (smaller) falls. If you're looking for the best view of the larger Canadian falls, I'd recommend the Marriott Fallsview. More expensive, but generally a step up in terms of view and overall hotel quality. The rooms at the Sheraton are nice, roomy and clean. Check in and check out is smooth.

One thing to note is that the Sheraton is in a building linked to the smaller casino, a kids amusement area (mini golf, laser rider and video games), Rainforest / Hard Rock cafes, and huge indoor watermark. These are all additional $, but it is convenient if you have kids and are interested in these things. We bought the water park package so it was great for us. There is a resort fee of $15.95 on top of the the normal room rate, which gives you internet and not much else.

There are a couple of restaurants on site, a $40 buffet that is just ok but with a great view of the US falls, and the Jamie Kennedy restaurant. Didn't eat at the latter. There is also a Starbucks on site, but it is not Corporate owned so they charge more than normal, and quality and service is not up to normal Starbucks standards.

Parking is offsite (next door) and is an additional $30 a day for self park.

That's it. Been here a few times and it's always a nice, consistent hotel with easy access to the falls and kids attractions. If a better view of the falls and/or access to the bigger casino is your priority, I'd spend the $30-50 extra and stay at the Marriott Fallsview.

Room Tip: Rooms offered are US Fallsview, city viev or budget (no windows), priced accordingly. High-floor fallsview are obviously the best.
