Nothing about the property stood out and nothing really negative really detracted from the overall experience. Just a standard, clean, Fairfield Inn. It was very easy on/off the 400 although getting in and out of Essa Road can be a challenge in the morning and evening rush hours. It is very close to Park Place where all the restaurants are. Breakfast was normal Fairfield Inn fare. It was a bit of a challenge getting parking when we came back about 10 as there seemed to be a plethora of trucks in the parking lot but that is a challenge everywhere with parking lots made for cars and it seems everyone driving oversized pickups these days.

This is a very nice hotel, close to everything, and very easy to find. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very nice, and the rooms was perfect (clean and comfortable). The room was also very quiet, no street noise at all. We will definitely stay there again.

The only negative aspect was the parking. If you arrive back at the hotel late at night, you will be lucky to find a parking spot. And, the parking spots are extremely narrow making it even harder. Pull in those mirrors!!

The pros;

Customer service ladies at front desk very friendly and helpful!

Location is very good, about 100 metres off of the 400 highway.

Quiet, no road or outside noise.

Breakfast inlcluded, while we didn't take advantage of it, we did enjoy the coffee and lots of people we enjoying it.

Less than 4 km to the downtown area, we walked it...very safe.

No restaurants in hotel or on street, grocery stores on next street though, Zehrs sells beer.

We were upgraded to a king suite without asking, nice surprise! Although they had emailed about free upgrades but they were having technical difficulty.

The Cons;

The price ! $249.99 for one Friday night.

Although hotel seems clean, our bathroom was not. Hair in the corners on the floor.
Splatter on wall around garbage can. Broken tile in shower with orange spots which means it has been there for a while. Bathrooms are a thing with us, must be clean!

No place to charge cell phone or IPads, I had my charger however every hotel now has a place to plug in for charging.

Young guy at front counter early in morning , made no eye contact and said nothing while people walked by. The young lady filling the juice fridge at breakfast was super friendly and wished us a good day! I'm giving full marks for staff as 4 out if 5 were above average

Part of room door missing, although it was still operational.

Clean bathroom and charge less it would be a 5 star.

Newer, very clean and modern looking property. Overall a smaller building with smaller rooms and a smaller pool than other Fairfields I have stayed at. The breakfast was better than at a standard Fairfield. It included fresh fruit every day. The hotel met all special requests. Location wise it was close to everything: gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and was a few minutes drive from downtown Barrie. It is surrounded by beaches mature evergreens.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before and never have been disappointed..good location just off the 400 makes it centrally located. The front desk clerk was very friendly and check in only took a few minutes. The rooms are clean and modern...I have a request for a top floor room in my Marriott profile and we were set up in the last room on the 3rd (top) floor....nice and quiet! The bed was very comfortable too. The breakfast is included which is appreciated..one less thing to plan in the morning.
