We had not stayed at the Delta Barrington for a very long time but decided to visit again. The hotel is exceptionally well located: adjacent to the pedway which gives access to two major shopping malls, a casino, and the wonderfully accessible - and interesting - waterfront. There are some good - and a few excellent - restaurants within easy walking distance, and a $7 cab ride will take you virtually anywhere you want to go on the Halifax side of the harbor.
The hotel is old but has not been allowed to become dated. In our room, everything worked: taps, toilet, shower, lamps, and so on. (This hotel, and every other hotel, should get rid of those ghastly CFL light bulbs and replace them with LEDs.) The staff were welcoming and polite. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited and features a lot of heavy food, so we looked elsewhere. Ask for a room away from Barrington Street, which teems with noisy buses virtually around the clock.More
