Beautiful spot to look for whales (bring binoculars), take photos, look for wildlife, and just soak up the coastal feel of NL. You can hop onto the East Coast Trail right near here as well (the smaller parking lot to the west, along the road before you get to the lighthouse site). I never seem to arrive when the visitor centre is open so I haven't seen the inside but it's a nice place to take visiting friends so you can do that classic 'edge of the world' feel and take photos with huge waves.

The view from here is incredible. Being March and having just had a snow storm yesterday, the pathways were covered in snow but pack down well enough to walk and sneakers. The wind was howling but the vista was incredible. Didn't go up to the lighthouse because of the snow. So glad we stopped and will now have to come back in the warmer months to get the full experience. Definitely, absolutely worth the short trip from St John's.

This is thee most easterly point. That in itself makes you want to go there. Even more spectacular during IceBerg Season. Be care not to go near the rocks though.
