I have always wanted to stay at the Fort Garry and finally had the opportunity to stay when I returned to Winnipeg for Father’s Day. I was not disappointed. The staff was great friendly and helpful. The room was charming,I slept fantastic.i used the gym and ate at the lobby restaurant. The only thing I wasn’t able to do was get a spa treatment appointment maybe next time

Fort Garry Hotel is a gem! Very clean and crisp. Modern rooms in a historical building. Great king bed. Sumptous breakfast at a reasonable cost. Free cookies and coffee/tea available until 11 am. I found the cookies a little too sweet - pastries could be offered as alternative. Would be nice to have coffee/tea in the room. You would be better off eating your meals outside the hotel - the menu is very limited. Delighted to find my fave L'Occitane products supplied!

We had a great time in Winnipeg, and the staff at the Fort Garry Hotel made it better. It was our first time in Winnipeg, and our first time in Canada for Canada Day (July 1). The Fort Garry is a classic hotel that has been updated well, while retaining its historic character. No mini coffee maker with plastic cups in your room; instead, coffee is delivered to your door each morning - with biscotti! All the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is easy walking distance to the Historic Forks District. Lots of family-friendly festivities, music and fireworks there for Canada Day. The Canadian Museum of Human Rights is there too. Plus, the Forks Market has foods from a wide variety of nationalities - as well as a wide selection of local craft beers. We found ourselves going back to the Forks often.
Special thanks to Maria in reservations, who discovered before we left for our trip that the booking made online was actually double-booked as two senior executive suites (I'd wanted just a room with a bed.). Maria straightened that out, and was able to find the room we wanted at a lower rate. I love dealing with understanding humans!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at The Fort Garry over the Canada Day Holiday! We're so delighted you enjoyed your time with us, and took advantage of the close location to The Forks. We will thank Maria for her service, we think she's a gem as well! We very much look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back again soon!

Our first room was next to a crying baby but the staff switched our room and we still got to keep the good view! Great food and fun atmosphere with live music on the Saturday night we were there.
Bed was comfy. Room was small but very classy, comfortable and clean. Easy walk to the forks and river front.

The pool is a little inconvenient to get to and it closed at 8pm so we couldn't do our usual hot tub before bed. Other than that, a great stay!

Easily the Best hotel in Winnipeg! Great location, historic building restored and updated to be both elegant and chic!! The staff was helpful and friendly, on site food was delicious, suite was exceptionally large and exquisitely decorated. Fresh complimentary morning coffee delivered to your door and The Forks just a few minutes walk away. Spa experience was exceptional as well!! Five stars!!!
