The Fairmont Chateau in Whistler was our first time as guests at a Fairmont hotel and our impressions were positive from the start. We received a quick kerb side check-in as the staff emptied all the bags from our car. While the valet drove the car round to the hotel parking lot, our bags were whizzed up to the room and we received a friendly briefing on the hotel and Whistler itself with some helpful tips to get the most of our time.
The serving period for afternoon tea was quite short in the main lounge and we missed out on that. However, we spent a good while in the outdoor and indoor pools and hot tubs. There are great views from outside, and we saw a black bear and bear cub near the gardens. The inside decor is cosy and traditional, both in the bedroom and in the public spaces. On our first night, the noise from a party in the hotel lounge came right up into the room, as the corridor outside the bedroom led directly onto a walkway over the lounge space, and the party went on late.More
