We went to Whistler to spend the night, four generations, for Father's Day. There were two family, with four children under 2 years of age. We also travelled with a dog, a siberian husky. The reception was friendly and helpful. The rooms were great! We cannot say enough about the helpful staff, from the parking valets to bellmen to concierge. We had brunch on Sunday morning, and they placed us all in The Wine Room. It made it so easy for all of us. And again the food and service were beyond reproach. Thanks so much for everything! We will be back. The sweetest part was watching the valet service packing kids, equipment and babies into the cars, and offering water for the trip home. Thamks, Fairmont Family.

We returned to the Fairmont for the first time with our 8-month old twins for Father's Day. Having only stayed in the hotel previously without children, I had no idea the hotel was so family friendly. I think it goes to show that the hotel accommodates all types of guests with ease.
I was a bit concerned about how the weekend would go with two babies in a hotel room, but we made the best choice by going to the Fairmont for the kind of service they provide. I had booked a regular room online but at check in, a larger room on the Gold floor was available. We were really lucky to be offered a discounted upgrade fee, so we choose to go with this room and it was a great decision. I didn't know what kind of room we would be getting, but it was beyond my expectations. Wow-first, the room was much bigger than the regular room, and it was no problem fitting two cribs (they provided) in the room and all the gear we have to lug around. The best part was being on the Gold floor where we could get drinks, breakfast and appetizers in the Gold lounge. The Gold staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. For us, it made such a difference because it was so much easier to just carry the babies to the lounge and have breakfast there instead of having to get them ready and leave the hotel to go somewhere for breakfast. When we showed up for breakfast, the staff brought in high chairs, no problem. A bonus for my husband and I was having a glass of wine in the afternoon (with the appetizers) in a beautiful lounge setting. Since babies are not allowed in pubs (in Canada), it was a wonderful treat that we haven't done in awhile! The lounge also has DVDs which, again, was great for us since we were not going out in the evening once the babies were asleep. We were able to hang out in a beautiful room, relax and watch a movie.

We were very conscious about our baby twins' behaviour and made sure they were not acting out and disturbing other people. They actually were really good (no melt downs in public!) and we always felt welcome by everyone- other guests and staff. In the future, I will reserve the Gold level as it provided a wonderful level of service and really made my husband's first Father's Day memorable. I'd like to thank the staff for their help and level of professionalism.

Stayed at the Fairmont during the Easter period for 6 nights. We had an awesome ski vacation especially given the amazing conditions this year. Apparently the weather can be rainy this time of year but it was perfect for us. I looked at most of the big hotels in town out of curiosity and I was happy with our choice. We got a crazy-good deal that included our lift tickets for the week. Some attributes in the Fairmont's favor vs. all the other choices: The pool and spa area is about the nicest, and largest in town - great for kids. Includes well-heated indoor/outdoor pool, separate lap pool, and 4 spas. Gym facility is very nice. Service was excellent. Location is in Upper Village right at the Blackcomb lift. You can grab your skis at the in-hotel ski rental and valet and walk right out to the slopes. The location is quiet as opposed to the hotels around the main Whistler lift, which are surrounded by a sea of humanity on most days. If you want to be in the center of the action you might prefer one of those. The hotel's rooms are very nice, but not spectacular. They do not have kitchenettes like many of the other hotels, but you can get a microwave and refrigerator. The common areas of the hotel are very nice - lobby, bar and restaurants, outdoor seating. In summer there is a little miniature golf course right out the front door. Overall we were very pleased, especially given the crazy deal we got. Out of the other hotels, I liked the location and layout of the Westin the best. If you want to walk around town and never bother with a shuttle bus then you may want to stay in the main village, not the upper village. Also there is a free parking lot in town. The hotel charges a ton. You can park your car and leave it for your entire stay as you can walk everywhere in Whistler.

Room tip: Ask for mountain facing balcony

Fantastic hotel - all and more we had read about. Spa is one of the best ever used. Room huge and clean. Bed was so comfortable. No noise heard on guest floor at all. However the parking charge is steep for a night - given the cost of rooms then this should be reveiwed. This was the only negative we had. Would stay here again but would expect parking charges to be revised.

We (Canadian couple, late 50's) stayed here for a weekend as part of a business trip (executive retreat). The facilities for the retreat were fine - good food and beverage services for lunch and dinner for our group. We managed to find some time for exploring Whistler and brought our bikes with us (the bike trails are great - something for everyone from paved routes to moderate gravel trails to mountain bike challenges). Hotel is well organized for this - they took our bikes off the car at check-in, and we retrieved them easily from the secure area when we needed them. Hotel is located in upper village, but it's a short walk to the main village where most of the restaurants, shops etc are located. Hotel has everything you would expect of a Fairmont - spacious, well-equipped guest rooms (ours had a lovely large bathroom), nice restaurant and a large lounge/bar. Live music in the bar was a nice touch (and the musician who played there June 10th and 11th was very good). Food and drink on the expensive side - a glass of wine in the bar came to $15 with a modest tip. We couldn't bring ourselves to eat a $25 breakfast, but there's a cafe attached to the hotel with more reasonable prices. Parking was $30 a night, with a simple process for multiple entries and exits. Fitness centre and pool were fine, but you'll probably want to get your exercise outdoors. Hotel appeared to be family-friendly - we saw plenty of children. Staff were all pleasant, and the guys at the front door were excellent.
If you are into any outdoor activities this is a great location. Ski lift outside; bike trails close by.
