Review of The Venue

The Venue

Description: Our concept is simple, in one word it is "integrity". We strive to serve all our food with integrity. That starts at the very core basics, what comes from the earth to feed our bodies and soul should be honored and returned to the earth in every way possible. We believe that food comes from the garden to the plate and circles back to the compost. Everything we do, we do it with that circle in mind. We are blessed to live in a place of abundance like Whistler and Pemberton, where to serve amazing food is easy. But, to serve food that also is produced with a minimal impact on the environment is a serious choice and one that we make every day, regardless of the time and money. When we created "The Venue" restaurant we choose to partner with others that share this belief, like Sea to Sky Soils, Ice Cap Organics, Tableau Water and Two Rivers Specialty Meats. Our kitchen is filled with everything we can find that is organic and grown locally. This mindset follows through to the wines we feature. Local vintners, like "Hugging Tree", "Fort Berens" and "Tightrope" who all follow similar principles. Even our table water provided by Tableau Water produces no plastic for our restaurant. Everything is fresh, organic, local and served with gratitude for our earth that provided it.

Ryan and Melissa and superb staff put on a delicious, outstanding meal for 40 guests in Canada for our son's wedding. The food was excellent, with different people delighted for many different reasons. Hosted bar, appetizers, champagne toast, beautifully set tables, overall lovely ambiance...relying on the expertise of Chef's Ryan and Melissa we chose the Thanksgiving buffet as the base....with variations. Roasted veggies and ham and turkey were fantastic! Butternut squash soup was out of this world! Local wines paired well with the food. Desserts were wonderful, individual creme brulee and chocolate mousse were divine. Our hosts were especially accommodating and gracious. We wholeheartedly recommend The Venue for exceptional food, wonderful ambiance and a memorable experience.

We recently went to The Venue for our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect place to hold this event. It was secluded, a great outdoor area, (bocce ball, patio,) and then we went in for a really excellent dinner. The ingredients were all really fresh and tasty and it was as if we were eating at home. It was perfect. Thank you Ryan for the amazing time!

Our son held his wedding and reception at this restaurant and it was exceptional! Located in a quaint spot on a hill surrounded by a forest, it is quiet and peaceful. The food presentation was incredible and the food itself was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had two of our family events at the Venue. The first on Saturday night and the second on the Sunday. The dinner Saturday night was excellent. The space put aside for our rather loud family was tasteful and comfortable. The food prepared by Ryan and his lovely wife was not only very good but was exceptional value and plenty.
The brunch on Sunday was to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary and I was totally impressed. There are not too many buffet style brunches that can pull of a perfect eggs benny. If you want value for money and a comfortable place to host a larger gathering, I have no hesitation recommending Ryan and his team at the Venue.

Our board held its quarterly meeting dinner at this private-party venue. It's a beautiful, rustic location. The staff and owner(s) were extremely friendly and responsive to our requests and last minute adjustments to the setup of the room (we are a picky, yet grateful, customer). The service was a bit on the slow side, because of the size of our group, I'm sure. The food was good and plentiful. The appetizer spread they put out for our pre-dinner socializing was amazingly good! This place is quintessential Whistler. I recommend it.
