Of course we had to try to famous fried chicken. It was just ok for us - maybe expectations were too high. Not sure would re order again. The fried frog legs were better.
Dumplings special was ok but would not order again. The taste of five spices was too strong and the inside just crumbles apart.
The mango slush was refreshing.
Also tried the luc lac fried rice with egg on top. Worth the trip to the resto and reason why it's getting a 4* review.
Resto was packed when we sat down at 4.30pm. Who eats so early anyway?? Felt a bit rushed by the waiters always checking if we were done.

Total for 4 ppl was $100 (not cheap)

This restaurant was very busy even though we had gone mid week. It was full of Vietnamese people which indicates that this is indeed a good restaurant. It was so popular that at one point there were about 20 people waiting for a vacant table. It did not get a five star rating as one of the meals was incorrect delivered and it took another 15 minutes to serve the correct meal. In the meantime my wife had got so hungry that she shared my meal until hers was finally delivered. That said the food was good but it was so busy that we had to try and flag down a waitress to get a drink.

The food was delicious, but we waited a REALLY long time to be seated, we felt very rushed during the meal, the wait staff didn't explain anything being that none of us had ever been to the restaurant before, we didn't feel very welcome at all...we could have ordered it out and had a much better time eating at home. If you are comfortable ordering Cambodian or Vietnamese food then you'll feel right at home, but if this is your first experience with the cuisine, I wouldn't suggest it.

I've been here before and I remember had to wait quite awhile.
This time came few minutes before they just opened on a weekend at 10am.
As soon as they opened the whole place got filled up.
This time had their Stew beef noodles. It is pretty good, I like the tendon more than the beef cubes (too chewy and shreds stuck in teeth).
Overall good favor but took like 20 minutes to come out.

We saw this restaurant featured on an episode of Anthony Bourdain years ago and have wanted to try it out - finally got there!

The chicken wings were indeed probably the best ever, which is a funny thing to say away from a pub but they were crisp while being perfectly moist and delicious. The garlic squid was equally fantastic and our server also recommended we try the Phnom Pengh beef on rice and we were glad we did. Next time we are in Vancouver we'd love to try more.
