“Great hotel, great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

The Loden hotel is definitely an upscale, classy place. From the moment you arrive you are treated very well...valet parking, friendly front desk, helpful staff. The rooms are beautiful, modern and classy. Views are nice, even though you are a few blocks from the water. We loved the espresso machine in the lobby where you could quickly make your own lattes, all complimentary. The location I good... Walking distance to the shops, retaurantsm waterfront, Stanley park, etc. This is a really amazing hotel and you will not be disappointed....very romantic!

Room Tip: The rooms higher up have better views.

My fiancé was really excited to book this hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. I was a little concerned by the photos of the walls that looked like brown wood panels that it might not be nice. Boy, was I wrong! This is one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Everyone at the front desk was a delight, especially Sarah. We didn't even realize that we were upgraded to a Park Vista room and I would accidentally do it again in a heartbeat, no wonder it was such a magnificent stay! We had a beautiful corner room on the 11th floor (there are only 12) with stunning views of the mountains and the water directly in front of us. The floor-to-ceiling windows were spectacular. And the bathroom, oh, the bathroom was lovely. The floors were marble, the tub was huge, and the doors to the shower and the toilet were sliding wood doors that blended into the walls that were so elegant. My favorite part of the bathroom, though, was the control on the wall that allowed us to listen to the tv while in there!

During our stay, I stained my fiance's shirt and the front desk had housekeeping call me and they came and picked up the shirt to clean it without a fee! They also brought us an iron and ironing board when we requested it (they only had a steamer in the room) and took it back when we called to let them know that we were finished. Everyone was so amazing there.

This is just an absolute must if you are visiting Vancouver. We spent three days here and wish we had a week! We also spent three nights at the Opus Hotel for a friend's wedding and this hotel is much more elegant, sophisticated and conveniently located to downtown hotspots. I highly recommend it!

We statyed at trhe Loden in April of 2012. It is a terrific hotel in the heart of Vancouver--perfect location. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the room was very cozy. The windows even opened! If youre lookingfor a great hotel in Vancouver look not further than the Loden--its a great break from the mega chain hotels you get in most major cities.

Dear Guest,

Taking a break from the mega chain hotels is what we aspire to...for our guests, and for the team as well. Many of us have enjoyed and appreciated the experiences gained from various respective brands. However, the one thing we cherish the most is being in our Loden environment where hospitality need not be hindered by the many processes that often are required in the mega chains just to make things right and adapt to the needs of our guests.

This is why the feedback through TripAdvisor is so valuable to us. Thank you for sharing!

We stayed at the Loden for the first time and loved it. Quiet, good room and price for down town Vancouver. Plus the people were terrific. Very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Didn't try the breakfast, but had lunch at the restaurant which was good as well.

I booked at The Loden at the last minute, during the weekend of the Sun Run (a 50-thousand person 10K through the heart of the city) and a big teacher's convention. To my great good fortune, there really wasn't any place else to stay...which is to say that the average nightly rate wasn't cheap.

But it was worth it. The Loden is, for me anyway, perfectly located: You can easily walk just about anywhere you want to be in Vancouver. BC Place, Gastown, all the downtown restaurants. And it's quiet. My room was on the 10th floor and was utterly silent.

The rooms are elegant and modern, the staff is warm but not cloying. Tableau, the very-French bistro connected to the hotel serves good food and even better cocktails.

I was there for a mixed business/pleasure visit and I'd certainly stay there again, either for business or for pleasure.
