Love this hotel and always stay here when in town. Great views. Exceptional service. Smaller rooms but not important when on business.

Staff was really nice and accommodating. The scenery from our bay view room looking over the water was beautiful. I recommend the bay view to the city view. If you have a car, you should just park across the street in the convention center's parking garage. The price for the garage there was $32 whereas using valet service would have cost $44 + tip.

This most recent trip to the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel was my third in the past three years. It's a fine hotel with much to commend it. The location is prime. Within minutes you can walk the heart of downtown, Stanley Park, or, across the street, to the Skytrain station or Seabus to the North Shore. Speaking of the North Shore, the views of the mountains across Burrard Inlet from this hotel are sensational! Ask for a higher floor - I stayed on the 15th this past trip - and request one of the corner "Signature" suites which command exquisite views from no less than three beautiful vantages -- east towards the Second Narrows and Mt Seymour, and west towards the Lions Gate Bridge, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. Even the spacious bathroom has a dynamite view of the harbour and Vancouver's North Shore mountains!!!

The service at this hotel is warm and welcoming. From the valets and bell hops who greet you with a "welcome back" when you come back through the doors of the lobby, to the front desk and housekeeping staff, this hotel can pride itself on polished customer service.

Personally I much prefer the Waterfront to the neighbouring Fairmont hotel, the Pacific Rim. Though the Rim is newer and more glamourous, it lacks the charm, warmth and sophistication of the Waterfront. Chacon son gout. I like the calm and spacious lobby and the open but quieter more polished feel of the Waterfront's beautiful Heron's restaurant and bar.

Without doubt, this hotel is worth it!

Room Tip: Corner rooms -- 1507 -- wonderful views!
