When I think of the Bee & Thistle I think of WOW.....we were totally and utterly amazed at the beautiful and tasteful decoration and the attention to detail and friendly atmosphere. We booked Florences Room which was just gorgeous and overlooked a lovely garden at the rear of the property. It was spotlessly clean and and bathroom was fabulous with a tub,and walk in shower. Each evening we came home to the menu for breakfast the following day and this also gave you the names of your fellow guests (a lovely touch) and also the most yummy homemade cookies too. You may be thinking a menu for breakfast? Each morning the homecooked 3 course breakfast was different and really set you up for the day with the most exquisite presentaton. The location of the B&B just off Commercial Drive was great. There are numerous restaurants to choose from (check out Lynn & Michaels blog on their visits to local restaurants) and it is so easy to get into the centre of Vancouver (either the SkyTrain, 10min walk up Commercial Drive or the 20 Bus, which stops at the end of the street). We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and Lynn & Michael left us a bottle of wine in our room and a card, it brought tears to my eyes we were totally overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness. I would thoroughly recommend you stay at the Bee & Thistle if you want luxurious surroundings, very friendly service and great location.....give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Choose Florence's Room as it is nice and quiet and over looks the beautiful rear garden.

The Bee and Thistle is a real find and like visiting the home of old friends. Lynn and Michael are so warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay in Vancouver absolutely perfect. Their lovely home is stylish and comfortable and we loved all the little 'extras' such as delicious homemade cookies every day, complimentary goodies in the fridge, personalised messages on the menu, access to washing and drying facilities and access to personal laptop & internet. The quality, size and presentation of Lynn's breakfasts were amazing and the location perfect to walk to a wide range of shops and restaurants. Thank you Lynn and Michael you are truly warm, caring and helpful hosts.

Beautifully fitted old house with perfect balance between preservation of the heritage style and every modern comfort. The best bed. The artistically presented breakfast tasted as delicious as it looked. Thank you Lynn and Michael. Five star hotels have nothing on this place. Charming.

We regularly stay near Commercial Drive, to visit our kids, and this is by far the best place to stay - beautiful remodel of old heritage home, spotless, comfortable rooms and beds, welcoming hosts, huge (maybe too huge) breakfasts, central location but far enough Drive to be quiet.

The Bee and Thistle is in a category of it's own. Lynn and Michael are wonderfully warm and helpful hosts and they take extra steps to insure that you have a memorable stay. They love what they do and it shows in the smallest detail. We were greeted with delicious homemade cookies ( as there are everyday) and a folder with a breakfast menu, as well as information on the inn. The rooms feature a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks, a state of the art tv, a netbook, and a very comfortable bed. Our room faced the back, as I had asked for a quiet room, and it was lovely. The bathroom in that room is tiny ( Michael had shared that with me when I booked so I was not surprised) but it has a very nice stall shower, fluffy towels and well thought out amenities. The breakfasts are works of art, beautifully presented and delicious. I highly recommend staying here. I would not stay anywhere else in Vancouver.
