Our recommendations would be to get there early, it soon gets busy. Go by ferry - it adds to the atmosphere - and start with breakfast. We went to the Granville Grill. The market is a great place to walk round and browse but so is the rest of the island area. It's worth going on to Vanier Park by ferry from here, alternately it's about a 15 minute walk

Wish we had been able to stay longer in this area. The shops had wonderful local art and there were several restaurants that looked good. We shared delicious food and great service at Edible British Columbia. Walkable area, with fun street art and singers.

Fabulous market, innumerable food stalls of fresh food, fruit, bakeries, cheeses, pastries, sweets. In door and out, street musicians. Could lose a whole day. Little ferry tugs get to it . ( we hired a speed boat for the mornng and had lunch there. ) lovely

A trip to the Granville Island Market is a sensory experience. It smells wonderful - food and flower aromas abound, it's just downright pretty and importantly, it''s fun.
It's a great place to visit anytime, but I particularly enjoy it in Winter, around Christmas.

Great view of the city from some of the restaurants. Everyone is friendly and helpful on the island. It is walkable and has many shops that are worthy of a look. The ceramic shop was lovely.
