This island is absolutely magic. It is a healing place, and has been for centuries, for the Snuneymuxw Nation and is very easy to understand why once one sets foot on it.
There is a fabulous trail for walking, witnessing, experiencing nature or gourmet running.
The views all the way around are spectacular. The beaches offer swimming, resting, deep breathing, rejuvenation for body mind and spirit. The building - I hope it always is maintained as is and nothing else is built on the island! - has an fascinating history and the best and biggest dance floor on the island. What a great place for events from weddings to productions to celebrations.
The island is pristine, kept so for centuries by Snuneymuxw First Nation and continues to be kept so. The Nation and keepers of the island offer story-telling and salmon bbq's through the summer that deepen the experience of visiting.
I LOVE that it is only accessible by water, too. It is a very special place to visit.
