Decided to select Travelodge as they were close to the ferry port, Very friendly staff alerted us to the fac,t not to exit the main car park onto the ferry road as there are double yellow lines and cops occasionally wait just up the road to book people, drive around the back of the hotel and exit there. Room was clean and quite large and reasonably quiet during the night. Quite a nice experience second best on our one month long trip. Would recommend a stay if in the area.

We have stayed at the Travelodge many times, this time was different. There was definitely a strong scent in the corridors and the room was overwhelming. I have COPD it soon became clear that we would have to leave. The two ladies at the front desk went beyond good service, calls were made to several nearby hotels to find out if they used scented products, they couldn't do enough for us. Kudos to the front desk staff! Date was September 17th 2017. I have given the hotel a 5 because of the service and cleanliness,of the rooms. I understand that you can call ahead and request a scent free room, however, once the fabric softener is used it is reflected in everything mattresses, pillows, duvets, etc.

Room tip: Make sure you ask for 3rd floor, the elevator does not have a 2nd floor stop.

The friendliness of the team at this Travelodge reinforces an impt point of the hospitality trade .Whilst the 'hardware' of the hotel is impt , it is ultimately the staff that makes the difference .
I stayed here only for 2 nights but the team made me feel so at home that I can overlook the age of the hotel .
The convenience store at the gas station in front of the hotel was really useful for snacks and beverages . There is a casual cafe close by . The hotel is quite centrally located - a short distance from downtown n close to everywhere else .

Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The rooms have been renovated and are clean, comfortable and quiet. All rooms have fridges and coffeemaker, some also have microwaves. The continental breakfast was fresh and a good variety of fruit, yogurt, pastries, bagels, boiled eggs etc.
Plenty of parking spaces between the hotel and a petrol station. A convenience store conveniently situated at the petrol station.

The breakfast is decent and you can also sit in balcony in summer.
