We were touring Vancouver Island and because of our FERRY ride we were late arriving to Victoria from which we went to Nanaimo. We made a double delux room reservation at this Motel earlier based upon the proximity in Nanaimo and the picture of the place shown on the internet. We were 3.5 hrs. late arriving due to heavy traffic & checked in at about 9 PM. But, alas, our room was not ready! They scrambled to clean it as we waited about 20 minutes. We've been on the road since 5 AM and as one could imagine we were really tired by the time we finally got told to occupy the room at 9:20 PM. We opened the door and there were 3 people in it. 2 women still feaverishly cleaning and a man trying to hook up an old TV. So there we stood for another 10 minutes with luggage in hand, before we could go in. When we did, all 3 of us wanted to use the bathroom and found out the bathroom floor was STILL stickey, which was absolutely disgusting. I went and talked to the manager to complain and to give us another room but that was the last one. So being so late we had no choice but to cover the floor with a big towel as we all took showers before hitting the sack. I could never go back to this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. We were lucky to have only booked one night and the next night we stayed at a real swenky, magnificent resort called "Pacific Shores", about 10 miles north of there.

There have been a lot of negative reviews about the previous managers and I want to let everyone know that the new managers are extremely kind, helpful, generous and are doing their best to renovate the motel. Mary Anne gave me a ride to the grocery store and then to a local dispensary without hesitation and expected nothing in return. We wanted to hook up our play station and they searched all over for the right cable for us. I have never seen hotel managers who actually care this much about their guests! Thank you guys very much, we had a great stay and will come back if we need a motel by the ferry!! Closest motel to the departure bay ferry too by the way.

We've stayed here a couple of times before, and it used to be pretty seedy. The price was right though! We were pleasantly surprised this time because it was freshly painted, and now has a coffee maker ect in the room. The wifi was actually pretty good! Overall, it's way nicer than it used to be. It's a quiet spot, so ok for a quick night in a humble motel. Nice Greek Restaurant is stumbling distance away which is handy. A Tim Hortons nearby.....Probably the cheapest deal available in the Nanaimo area.

Needed a place to stay because I was catching an early ferry. Old place but is trying to update. Very clean. Comfy bed. Coffee and microwave. TV had AMC channel - so some extras there. Important to me because I wanted to watch TWD! Great desk service. Booked here because it was the cheapest rate booking online. Would definitely stay here again. Great for adults.

Room Tip: think all rooms are okay - maybe go south - nearer Estevan side than the Old Island Highway.

We looked at the room in this motel and refused to stay. There were men in the parking lot with shopping carts washing their clothing. It did not seem safe nor overly clean. We spoke to the man at the front desk advising him why we would not stay and we sent an email booking.com to explain why we couldn't stay at this motel. It seems they now want charge a $70 fee!
