Owner description: Founded in 1988, we are one of the largest fully guided sport-fishing operators on the Fraser River and it's tributaries. Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world visit us to experience the world-renowned fishing and natural wonder of the Fraser River in beautiful British Columbia. This calm water fishery features over ten species of sport fish and year round opportunities for the novice and expert angler alike. We fish the #1 Sturgeon, Salmon and Trout rivers in the World. We specialize in multiple styles of fishing to meet the needs of any angler. Have you ever caught or touched a real living Dinosaur? We specialize in targeting White Sturgeon, a species that can grow over 20 feet in length and over a 1000lbs. These magnificent creatures make spectacular jumping displays and runs that will excite every angler. We also fish for all 5 species of Wild Pacific Salmon and boast the largest and most experienced team of fly fishing guides on the entire river. We exclusively travel to the Upper Pitt River and Lillooet River to chase sea run Dolly Varden, Bull Trout, Rainbow and migrating Salmon. When fishing with us the opportunities are endless and each adventure is personally customized so you can focus on the reason you are here......to fish!

My wife and I used a Groupon Certificate for a four hour educational Sturgeon Fishing Trip at the Chilliwack,B.C.Canada location. This was on the mighty Fraser River located at Island 22 Provincial B.C. Park Site. Oliver was at the boat ramp and immediately friendly, calm and welcomed us. We went the last day of Sept 2011 and dressed warm but it became very sunny and in a canvass covered 22ft. boat it was very comfortable and the seating was caushioned and lots of room. The river is not wavey and since the vessel is quite heavy you will not get motion sick. We had the after noon guideing tour and would suggest you bring some light food and drinks or pre-arrange the food with the tour company. Remember you are on the river for 4 plus hours and there are only toilets where you park your vehicle. Oliver was very knowledgeable having 14 years fishing experience and tried three locations and worked the different baits frequently. In the last hour we hooked a Sturgeon which took 35 minutes to bring up with giving the rod to another man and me and yes they are very heavy and a very strong pull. Sturgeon was 160lbs and 6ft. in length. Again Oliver was very conscientious and the fish was saved with more questions.
Great River Fishing Co.- Spoke to Matt who sends you a very adequate package for your comfort before and on the vessel. He will answer any questions before also by phone and will give you a secure feeling every thing is included. Directions on the internet map for the boat launch are a great help. Do not look for a office in the park, but bring $5.00 for parking. Only one wide boat launch and you will have to be able to be lifted up on the bow or the side which is approx. 3 ft. Comfortable warm rubber sole shoes and wind breaker jacket would be sufficient with a cap for your warmth and sun glasses.

Important-Fishing & White Sturgeon Licence: A combo licence is $18.00 for one day including both fish and Sturgeon and remember too print out the actual licence issued to you. All can be easily done on the internet or purchase at a fishing supply store. You will have to produce this paper to your guide upon boarding if you intend to hold a fishing rod!

Great River Fishing Adventures, Chilliwack Location - Is approx. 1.5 hrs. from Vancouver and a 1 hr. from any other city. Give your self traveling time as you could be slowing up another couple from enjoying the their time fishing and not happy when you get in the boat.
Customer Relations - I found the owner Ian very help full when I had trouble on the net and he did the form for us. He was also immediately informative in giving his guides the necessary date and time I wished to go fishing. He also likes any feed back which they will send you after the trip in acouple of days. I went to Trip Advisor and read the reviews and also saw the Sturgeon pictures and the very excited people with their catches. This location and Fraser River Area is very beautiful now in the fall and you are seeing mountains on each side with fall colours plus eagles so bring your camera's. The boat is very safe and has a cover engine and not noisy complete inclosed canvas with windows should it be windy or raining hard.

Tips; As many years ago I was a fishing guide and then sure appreciated a token for my hard work as even 4 hours a guide has to be attentive to all fishing skills and their guests . So very sure a Tip would be very appreciative as every guide has expenses.
Conclusion- If in doubt check this companies site and the many positive reviews and you all will have a very relaxing worth while fishing experience.

We had a great day. Our guide was determined to get us some fish, so even though we had to move around the river, he kept trying till we succeeded in a catch. He was very fun and personable, and genuinly wanted us to experience catching a great sturgeon. We could have stayed out all day long, and will definitly want to go again soon.

Our company took us on a fishing trip for our annual staff retreat and it turned out to be the most fantastic experience EVER! Yes, we were excited, Yes, getting out of the office would be fun, Yes, this is something we've never done before (we usually have guest speakers, motivational type - rah, rah!) But who knew - EVERYONE on our staff from early 20's to late'ish 50's - from City slickers to country peeps, would have the most AMAZING time! We are all still talking about it and can't wait to do it again. Our non- fishing people are now 100% "hooked". The guides were amazing - we had 8 boats and 8 guides and 8 different experiences, but all the same results = 26 STAFF MEMBERS HAD FUN!

My wife and I chose Great River Fishing Adventures for our latest fishing trip and we could not be happier. We had a blast! We fished sturgeon for three and a half days. We caught 45 sturgeon with the biggest being an 8'6" monster that was almost 5' around the belly, thanks Curtis! Great Rivers boats and equipment were top notch and our guide was outstanding. This was our first time fishing for these prehistoric beasts. What an awesome adventure, thanks guys,we will see you again soon!

I have been sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River with Great River Fishing Adventures close to 20 times and I have never had a bad day. Our most recent trip was no different. The Fraser River has the healthiest population of sturgeon anywhere in the world and these guys are the best on the river. Whether you are a total novice or a seasoned angler, Great River is the best choice for an awesome trip.
