We first visited in 1997 and have been several times, but this was our first visit for some years. It is just such a wonderful ski hill, no lift lines and sometimes it feels like you have the whole mountain to yourself. It is a great family ski hill and a really good confidence building place for new or nervous skiers.

We were here for 10 day over the New Year, and boy was it cold for about 4 days! We had a fabulous lesson with Andi Beard who really looked after us and made sure we kept warm. We would highly recommend this ski school, whether you are a beginner or just want to improve your technique.

The Chalets can get a little busy at lunch time. There is a small waitress served area in the Lower Chalet or a cafeteria and a coffee bar. We noticed that lots of families bring their own food and use the microwave provided.

There is also a very good ski and snow-board rental area downstairs.

We used the Marmot Basin bus to get to and from the resort. There are three buses in the morning which pick up at the hotels in Jasper and three which go back in the afternoon. These were complimentary with our lift passes. The journey takes about 30 minutes each way. There is car parking as well.

We hit the slopes mid-December at Marmot. We were very happy with the snow conditions! We were there mid-week and were lucky to have what seemed like the whole mountain to ourselves. Between the seven chairs there, we never had to wait in line to catch a ride to the top. The drive to the slopes from Jasper takes about 25 minutes in good weather conditions.

If you're going to ski for more than two days check out the Escape Card. It gets you 50% off ticket prices - so after two days of lift tickets, buying this card will save you money.

The staff on the hill are all very friendly. We had great service the whole week. We ate on the hill for lunches - not the cheapest option. If you want to save money, pack your lunches!

Short lift lines and a large area with a lot of different terrain for all ski levels. Bring your own food if you want your kids to go to college!

My daughter and I are beginner skiers and were very nervous about skiing in Jasper. Our instructor Pam was absolutely amazing. My daughter had a previous bad experience at another location and was petrified to take more lessons. We signed up for private lessons with Pam and received a military family rate, which was great. She is the most upbeat, relaxed and comfortable person a beginner could ever hope to ski with. She never made us feel rushed and only pushed us to do what we were capable of. During the lift rides, she talked to us about the mountain and wildlife....she even pulled out a flip book to show us the animals she was talking about. As a resident of another province, you can tell she only comes here to do something she loves. Thanks Pam xox

My husband loves trails through the trees. Marmot Basin is filled with them! We love the powder as well. It was -35 degrees out when we were skiing and we still enjoyed ourselves. We love the chair lift that goes from the bottom to the top of the mountain. There are runs from the top for every level of skier.

We would recommend!!
