I lodged at the the Thriftlodge in Edmonton a few weeks ago & had a late check-in. The parking lot had some excess water, which I figured was from all of the weather, but it was actually from a drainage pipe.
Other than that, the customer service from the front desk clerks was pleasant, my room, though a little old, was quaint, & clean (except for the drinking glasses, so I just used the disposable coffee cups). There was plenty of room to move around in & it was like staying in a little apartment! I was surprised. My room came with a little kitchenette, had a couch, dining table, entertainment center with dresser drawers, & a full-size bed.
The breakfast bar & dining area was beautifully set up! It felt like dining in a restaurant. The food was all self-serve (not hot), but the variety of foods to choose from made up for it.
In this motel, you weren't allowed to take the food to your rooms, so you had to eat it in the dining area.
There's a nice little shaded area behind the motel for pets to relieve themselves (they are pet-friendly, by the way,) & it's pretty easy to get back on the highway if you're traveling.
I enjoyed my stay & appreciated the great price (including my pets!) Thank you Thriftlodge Edmonton!More
