I was expecting primarily Sushi, but there are only about 3 different types, plus about 6 offerings of Sashimi. Lots of variety from fried to hot chicken, duck, noodle bowls, fry your own meat on a hot tablet, etc. All the food was really tasty, lots of Saki offerings as well. Very reasonably priced as well! Chairs were terribly uncomfortable and the service wasn't the most speedy at times, but 2 minor complaints for an otherwise excellent place. I highly recommend you check it out at least once.

The sashimi was amazing! The service was excellent and the decor was excellent. I loved the yellow drink vending machine, it was a really nice touch. Will certainly be back but it tends to be quite busy so get there early.

This is a high concept Japanese place that delivers some good, but very pricey food. It is a hybrid of a sushi shop and an iyazaka, but billed as Japanese street food. The attention to detail in the restaurant design and food presentation is great. The staff were friendly, if a little under trained and unable to answer questions about the menu.

The menu, which looks like a broadsheet newspaper, is very confusing. There are many small plates for sharing, some sushi, some noodle and rice bowls, soups and also two full entrée beef-heavy dishes (a large steak and a braised beef rib dish??). Of the dishes we tried, the highlights were the daily special miso soup and the calamari. The duck breast was perfectly rare, but had the skin (which is always the best part of duck breast) was removed. The tofu kara age was not at all crispy, but the broth it was sitting in was great. The jewellery bowl was a very pretty rice bowl of delicately cubed sashimi. The mozzarella coated in minced katzu was reminiscent of a scotch egg and wildly over-priced at $10 for two small, bland portions.

So overall it was hit and miss and very expensive for the amount of food we had. I may go back again, but not if I was very hungry.

My husband and I decided to try this place out. We love sushi and hadn't been here before. They are fairly new...not open a year yet.

When we arrived, the place was starting to get busy. They open at 5:30pm and we got there a few minutes after opening.

By 6:00, the place was packed. This is a seriously BUSY place with a fun and lively atmosphere.

Between the food and the atmosphere...this is a winner.

If you are expecting "traditional" Japanese sushi...you're in the wrong place.

The food is exceptional. The portions are more appetizer size than entree...so, perfect for sharing.

Since we've now been here 2 or 3 times...we're starting to have favorites.

The beef tataki is spectacular. So are the 2 sushi rolls - they are warm not cold which is a pleasant surprise.

The food is very innovative and unexpected...but, most important DELICIOUS

It's our new favorite restaurant.

Parking can be tricky...so, park across the street in the underground parkade (it's relatively inexpensive).

And if you want a great seat...get there early.

Went on a Saturday @ 5:35pm.
Place was packed already. As it was our first visit it took time to select our dinner. Our waitress was very helpful but many people attended our table -on bringing drinks , another clearing , and another bringing our food. At 7:00 pm our waitress asked if we were waiting for a our meals! We asked about out entres ( 2 rice bowl) and were told they were coming she did apologize and mentioned they were very busy .....rice arrived about 15 minutes later.... rice bowl not sushi or another handmade item.!! A bit overpriced .
