Description: Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue is located conveniently on busy Macleod Trail. Gaucho means ~ cowboy ~ and refers to our chef and owner Edmilson Rodrigues. Ede comes from the land of the Gaucho in the south of Brazil and has spent a lifetime introducing his food and culture to his guests. In our restaurant we feature a style of dining made famous in Brazil called, 'Rodizio'. Rodizio dining is like nothing you’ve tried before. To do it properly, budget an evening – or at least a few hours – and come hungry! Your barbecue chef of the evening will come around with massive churrasco-style skewers, each with a tender cut-of-the-day. Meat will be sliced straight to your plate, and it won’t stop till your table turns its card over to display the red side. To compliment your barbecue we feature hot and cold side dishes on our side bar. Our side bar is always changing to assure that our food is fresh and in season. Staples on the side bar include feijoada, the national dish of Brazil and bocconcini cheese made fresh weekly by local craftsmen. We recommend you try one of our traditional cocktails to 'open your stomach'- as Brazilians say! Remember to leave room for dessert like our traditional milk flan or the famous Barbecue Pineapple served on coconut ice cream and topped with guava sauce- we call it the 'Crowned King'! Gaucho has something for everyone! Come taste the experience!

Our server, Filipino guy, goes above and beyond. He is awesome. Their food is fantastic too, although we miss Bolero's grilled pineapple, and their lamb is not appetising at all, but we will be back because of the friendly and courteous staff. The loaded ice cream too is a must try!!

We took our granddaughter and husband for dinner at Gaucho’s on Macleod trail. We were not impressed.

The evening did not start well. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception desk and we had to wait to be seated. We were seated and given a liquor menu. It was never explained to us how the restaurant worked. Luckily, we knew the routine at a Brazilian BBQ restaurant and went to get our salads.

There was a good selection of meats which were brought to our table. The servers rotated regularly. We found the food far too salty and some of us were not able to eat the meat due to the very salty taste. They served a hot gluten free cheese bun which were excellent.

The salad and vegetable buffet had a good selection, was tasty and was not salty.

They must have been short staffed as we hardly ever saw a waitress. They did however keep our water glasses full.

The meal was all-inclusive and quite expensive. Desserts and drinks were extra.

I doubt that we will return.

Our first visit to Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue was to enjoy a nice meal out on my brother's last night in Canada before returning to Holland. What a wonderful experience it was! The atmosphere was relaxing and the buffet had a great variety of side dishes. When each of the 11 types of meat were presented at our table, we were in awe of the variety and each was cooked to perfection. Our "meat server" Javid was new to the job but you would never know it as he handled the skewer and carving knife with a natural ease. He was well trained and was able to describe each and every type of meat and how it was prepared. Our hostess Marina was attentive to our table and had great recommendations for cocktails and wines to pare with the specific meats. Super friendly and kind. If you are looking for a great dining experience where you can take your time to enjoy a meal and conversation this is the place to come to.

Much like other Brazilian meat houses in Calgary. Service was good, meat selection was good and overall experience good.
Salad bar is a fraction of other places, so if this is important something to think about. We went for the meat so not an issue.
